dinkkiller's Profile
Hello, I am DinkKiller.
I first discovered Dink probably around 2002 or so and I found TDN around 2004. I've been an on-and-off active member ever since. In 2005 I came up with the idea of my first D-mod which I didn't have the skill or motivation to actually create until 2009, when Dink and the Bonca released to near critical acclaim. A sequel to DatB had its early planning started not long after the release of DatB, but once again I didn't have the motivation to work on something so massive until several years later. In 2013, work finally started on the D-mod that came to be titled Shadows of Death, and as work on it progressed the project kept growing and growing in scope that by early 2015 it got too big for me to handle and I backed away from it. I released what I had completed of Shadows of Death up to that point, approximately the first quarter of the entire project, with no plans to revisit it at the time. Maybe one day I will revisit the D-mod as I would like to see it finished, but it may be a long time before I regain the drive to finish such a massive D-mod.
Outside of Dink Smallwood, I am an avid gamer. I play primarily on PC, Playstation 4, and the Nintendo Switch while I'm on the go. My favorite video game genres are FPS and RPG, though I play a little of almost everything. My favorite video games ever include the Mass Effect Trilogy, Life is Strange, Doom, Half-Life, and Overwatch.

Because when I was working on the project in 2013, I had a much smaller overall vision for the D-mod. I knew how I wanted the game to end, and I had the first of three major areas completed, so at that time I thought that more of the overall game (30%) was done. Back then I was still making it up as I went. When I actually put time and effort into writing out absolutely everything I wanted in the D-mod at the end of last year, mapping it out, the scope and ambition of the D-mod increased dramatically, which lead me to revise my estimated completion to 20%. Which lead to far less motivation to actually work on it, hence the incomplete version release. There is still the exact same amount of content, if not slightly more, as was in the game at the end of 2013.
I look forward to your perspective on the current state of the D-mod when you get around to playing it though. That's pretty much the only reason I released it at all.
