Oh, Glennglenn, you have excellent DMODs too! And it's really hard, no, VERY difficult to make DMODs when you know zero about programming. I read somewhere that carrie2004 started learning from scratch. And for me, that's such a herculean feat. And I'm basing my estimation on that - for carrie2004. And I go by instinct, and I like carrie2004's face. So there! We all have our preferences, and I like good plots.

The only programming I'd ever done before Dink was a little bit of BASIC. Which is pretty basic, by comparison.

As far as I see, DinkC is pretty easy to pick up, so when it comes to programming, it's ideal for those with very little experience.

I find that very encouraging, SabreTrout. Thanks. One of these long holidays when I don't have to cook and pack lunches for the kids, I'll tinker on the DinkC. I played the 3 Knight's Tale DMODs and I find it good and very funny - aheemm, humuorous, I mean - since that little fella (your character seems to take himself seriously). Good characterization, in my humble opinion. I don't want to heap so much praise on the other DMOD masters, I'm sure they have plenty of that, and they know it!

That's why I said "usually", there is also artificial insemenation.

The thing with girls/women is that they usually make comments about each other that us boys/men tend to think are 'lesbian'... probably because we wouldn't mind it being true ...There is also the bisexual possibility which is all good too

Nope, not a lesbian "lol" . Not bisexual either. And right, having kids do not require you to be hetero. I know lots of friends who are out of their closets who bear and raise good children. Just like in RPGs, you can never predict what the next screen has - potions or monsters.

And btw, the world needs more appreciative people...the more appreciation, the more DMODs. Yeheeey! Glennglenn, you are the author of Quest for Food, right? My son likes playing it. So don't stop...

And Dragon, you dream on...bisexual relationships could be one of the most romantically, physically (HIV-prone) traumatic experience...

I was just throwing out the possibility of the bi thing... don't exactly want my wife running off with some woman and/or bringing home something nasty I agree two to tango, three is just too many feet on the dance floor But I also don't want to offend anyone who is, so that's why I said it's all good. But I have to admit most men I know probably wouldn't mind it. But two dudes together, that just gives me a big no feeling. But I guess whatever people do is what they're gonna do and who are we to say it's wrong.

I actually know a few of them couples with kids that are out of the closet too... some of the best parents that I've seen.

Oh you're young! Don't wait until you're 40 to try out things you've always wanted to do when you were 20. BUT KEEP IT SAFE! And be sure it won't harm you or anyone!
And another thing, just remember exchanging body fluids are always unhygenic, and yes, with all those nasty germs intruding into your system yuck! That will keep you on the straight and narrow.

So what i meant with doing things you've always wanted to do while u can is something like bungee jumping or climbing hundred-year-old trees without a harness, etc. I know i always wanted to do them and kept postponing until my knees started creaking, moreso swing myself up a coconut tree.

Good thing about the internet, u can say nice words without being questioned about our motives, carrie2004. And in the same way, people/friends from Dinknetwork help out just because (period). I think that's cool.

Yeah, u learn more when you're having fun going about it. I think the lifeblood of DMODs are the Dinkers who want to learn more and share their ideas thru DMODs.

BTW, I look at the ratings by other reviewers but I play the DMODs anyway even if it's rated low. Again, one learns by forming one's own opinions, and testing its integrity with the opinions of others... dialectics of life...real life.

Tal is quite straight. Like an arrow. With the feathers, sure, but still straight.

Being straight as well, I would imagine that a non-polyamorous bisexual individual would be naturally attracted to males and females, but would only have one partner at a time. Like any straight person, encounters could be one-night-stands or part of long-term relationships. The only difference would be the other partner could be of any gender.

Straight, fabulous, bi or whatever else there is out there, I think that people complimenting others should be welcomed here. The sexual orientation of people should not be questioned if they say lots of good things about someone else (or their DMODs). It seems that Dinkers come from all walks of life, ages, religions, and countries for that matter, so we should all feel welcomed here on dinknet.

I agree with redink1 that bisexuals would typically only have one partner at a time. In otherwords they're human just like anyone else (in exception to maybe a few DMOD makers out there ).

Discussions on sexuality is always interesting for me (since where I come from, such topics where not so honestly and publicly discussed - not until the mid-80s). Some daring and brave souls gave their best efforts to further human rights including gender rights in the 60s. Well, we called them "flower children." I think that some of you know that, especially mature Dinkers from the West...where the flower movement was the strongest then. Simply put, it was based on a movement wherein the values of love, peace, harmony were encouraged and lived...and testing and even stretching societal limits. And boy, did they stretch them! (Note: I'm basing my views on several discussions with "chronologically older" friends who were into the movement then, and how they deal with others).

The invigorating spirit that moved the "flower child"...the sense of freedom of the mind, the irreverence for what is conventional...questioning everything, and stretching, expanding what can be seen in the horizon and beyond...but intellectually aware of the structures... ran out of words, heh!

Oh well, what I'm mean is that it is so much like the RPG authors' spirit - thinking out of the box and creating new boxes.

It can be a good basis for a DMOD plot "flower children" lost in Dink's medieval world.

Sorry for rambling, but I'm a crazy, bawdy, old woman. Glennglenn's very irreverent but honest question was fun! I wonder what was edited out in that part...

And oh, no one's questioning Tal's sexuality. Just asking out loud, philosophically... Makes for an interesting discussion on life... which is good for making characters in a DMOD. *Sigh* wish i had the adeptness and the luxury of time to make one right away, so I don't have to keep on being a "hanger-on" and always lurking on the Off-Topic section of the Board.

Tut tut... 'obnoxious'...'kissing for entertainment'... I think by pretending to swing the other way many girls are trying to avoid your affections, rather than attract them! I think some females are misbranded 'bi' or 'pretending to be bi' cause they're either a) drunk and stupid or b) slightly more affectionate than their male counterparts... and just for interest's sake, I've known a couple of guys who pretended to be bi just for a laugh... With regards to previous posts on this thread, redink, you really do look young, diwata, you seem to be an exceptionally sweet person, and carrie, the little beaver still pops into my head when I read your posts, not the rather-dubiously-shot photo...

(all hypothetical of course )

EDIT: And of course, she may not care whether her audience is male or otherwise...

That's fine, but experience has shown me that's often not the case.

Mmmm, pizza.
Once in a few months, someone is bound to ask "Where do Dinkers come from?", which usually got responses like "Netherlands... haven't we had this kind of topic before?".

Now, this won't be needed, as you can see where members are from on the frappr page.

This is lame... VonZeppelin Comes from an undisclosed location, and therefore you need not pinpoint his locale on a map... If the site is so globally connected, why is it only in English. I don't know why I have to keep repeat this... DONT YOU THINK THAT SOME DINKERS MIGHT PREFER TO VIEW THE SITE IN THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE????? That is all... Just to make everything clear...I only speak English, so I cannot authorize the usefulness of this procedure... only understand it...

If the site is so globally connected, why is it only in English.

Because English is the language most people understand, smarto. Go talk in your native language and most would not understand you here, while everyone would understand you when you type in English.

Also, over the history of this site, I could probably count the number of people who could not speak English on one hand. A forum dedicated to them would be an inactive forum.

True, true... okay point enough... so ill stop trying to force interlangual communications on you guys..... but. one thing Go talk in your native language and most would not understand you here, while everyone would understand you when you type in English. Well, guess what? SURPRISE! English is my native tongue, although I think I have already stated that... Even though I speak English doesn't mean that I cannot live in an undisclosed location...

I found the map, but didn't want to pfutz around getting joined and all that stuff.

I am a Dinker in Mexico, from Illinois originally.

It might interest you to know that there are now Dinkers among the indigenous Mexican Huichol. Dink has reached the kid population of these reclusive people, and they LOVE it, even though they don't understand a word.

Can somebody please do a Spanish translation of the original Dink, and maybe some of the best DMODs (eliminating any really raunchy language, for the kids' sake)? I don't know how, and am not fluent enough to do it properly.

Who knows? One day we may have Dinkers from Darfur, Sudan! If the genocide ever stops, that is. Wouldn't it be grand, though, when it happened? Darfur is one REALLY remote place. So let's Dink'em when we get a chance!
