I would prefer Dertin, he's much more interesting than Alessa or Fabian. Of course that's just my opinion...

Well, it's Alessa's ending (the good one) that is the true ending of Cloud Castle 2, so for those of you who didn't find it... you better try harder!

And whilst I have been working on it of late, the release is still a looooong way off. What has been done so far is rather nice, in my own, not particularly humble opinion.

If there are any particular aspects from the first two games that you really, really liked, let me know here, and I'll make sure they make it (in some form or other) into the concluding part of the trilogy.

now how about you just combine all the endings into one super ending/beginning, or even just keep them all for the next game...as a matter of fact, why not combine cloud castle 1, 2, and 3 into one game and the intro to the third depends on which ending you get in the second. i mean, that wouldn't be too much of a mess, would it?

That would take a hell of a lot of work, and I'm far too lazy to script it all. It would be cool if CC3 changed depending on the ending you got in CC2 though...

I'd like the ending with alessa. And I'd also like to see the Scrab 7 in CC3, too. I really liked them.
Edit: I started writing this post before I saw sabre's. I basically said the same thing.

The savegame transfer in itself would be easy enough, but the major issue would be that if we were to do this, we'd be pretty much tripling the work load of the d-mod.

And after the agony of making CC2, that is not going to happen again!

Aw, Alessa is/was boring.
(except perhaps for that naughty joke in the cult, but that's a whole 'nother story.)
At least Fabian had a secret and Dertin was laugh-out-loud funny. I do agree that the player should be able to choose the CC2 ending in CC3.

Anyway, I am very extremely muchly completely totally absolutely undoubtedly positevely glad to know that you're working on Cloud Castle 3.

(As for which things I'd like to see... How about an happier ending this time? )

Well... I could try and implement the different endings... but it would lead to massive headaches and an even longer wait until release. Is that what you want? To punish me?

But I am feeling pretty inspired at the moment... so I'll look into it.

Well, the 3 different "good" endings are all being implemented, but I've had to forget the idea of using a transferred save game from CC2. Having to use all the same globals would have just presented too many difficulties.

But the d-mod still links in very strongly with the 2nd in the series, and the more things you found in that, the more you'll enjoy this concluding part in the trilogy. Hopefully.

hmm..i haven't really finished cloud castle 2 because I did something in a wrong order and couldn't figure out why some things that should work didn't.
But anyway, I think a variety of landscapes is an important thing in dmods,it adds something extra's, but the only dmods I know which have those are SOB and PQ.
It would be cool if you spent some time on making some more interesting landscapes then just those green, grassy area's or those cave's

I think the ending with Alessa should be the true ending. It would be fun to couple those two or something in the oposide way anyway I'm sure you'll find out. But why didn't you think of this while making CC2?

And did you just let the rest die in CC2 because it would be to much scripting in CC3? (I can't figure out how you managed to do it all in CC2 man that must have given you a headace!) Or is it Arik's evil brain wich killed the entire population of Salamak?

CC2 was an absolute nightmare to make (and just as bad to test; thanks again, Tal!), and made me beat my head against my keyboard many, many times.

We didn't kill off characters due to the amount of scripting (the party system won't be quite as "open" this time around), but for effect, and for the story. It was a difficult decision to decide whether to implement all three (good) endings in the trilogy's conluding chapter, but I think it will make the d-mod even more replayable. One of the best things (in my opinion) about CC2 is that you could play it for a 3rd or 4th time, and still keep finding new things.

CC3 is going to be huge, but in a different way. We couldn't possibly have 3 different conversations for nigh on every NPC again. That was a very bad idea!

actualy, it was a great ideea, it made it the most replayable and one of my favorite mods

Well, it was a great idea for the people who played the game, just an extremely problematic one for myself and Arik to implement!

But it is the d-mod's main distinguishing feature, so I'm glad we put in the effort.
