Duck Contest Judgment
Hello,
Last night The Dink Network had a 1-out-of-4 chance to play a quacking sound effect if the page you viewed had the word 'duck' in it.
This was a contest, and if you tracked down the sound effect it brought you to this file.
Both magicman and Skurn posted about this around the same time. I am only considering the posts that adhere to most of the rules (i.e. not the original reference to duck.js that Skurn posted in the Duck thread).
This post is to establish who won the contest.
To win, you must be the first person to post the fact that you won the contest to The Dink Network's forum, with these specifications:
I neglected to specify whether this post should be a new thread (which I envisioned).
Magicman made his post as a reply to the 'Duck' thread at 22:37:59.
Skurn made his post as a new thread at 22:38:44.
User: You must be logged in.
Both Skurn and magicman were logged in.
Subject: "New Contest: Duck!"
magicman's subject followed this rule exactly.
Skurn's subject did not include the exclamation point.
Message: Must contain the following information:
- the contest is to post a forum message about tracking down an annoying duck sound effect.
magicman's post said "Yes. I'm tracking the duck as I write this."
Skurn's post linked to duck.js, but didn't mention anything about the duck sound effect directly.
- mention the fact that you are the winner to the contest.
magicman and Skurn both did this.
So, magicman's post most closely followed the rules, so I declare magicman to be the winner of the contest. Congratulations!
However, Skurn did post about it first, so he will receive some sort of runner-up prize.

Magicman, I declare you to be my arch nemesis now, and I will dress up in an overly dramatic black costume and wear a stupid mask that only obscures the area around my eyes.
lol I had no idea. Grats Magicman!
Wow, congratulations! Awesome contest, too bad I missed it. I did get to hear the duck once, at least, before you (presumably) turned the feature off.
Warning: I'm not much of a JS programmer, and I'm not familiar with Greasemonkey at all. Still, have a Greasemonkey script to bring the ducks back. Save as dnducks.user.js or something.
And I should probably just have copy-pasted duck.js into there, instead of loading it. Because indirections, yeah.

So, uh...what's going to come of this?
Disappointment.
Just noticed this entire thread...hopefully something happens!
Obviously the winner should be mailed a whole duck, and the runner up should only be mailed a head of one. It's the only logical prize really.
Yes, and then I can mount it somewhere and regularly give it ketchup to drip.
id say skurn should get a custom avatar but he probably knows how to do that himself lol
Looks like we have duckheads next to our Steam icons now! Boo-yah!
I'm so jelly
EDIT: AND YOU MOVE NOW SOOO JELLY
EDIT: AND YOU MOVE NOW SOOO JELLY
Oh snap! Hadn't even noticed that
(magicman, how do you notice a tiny duck head, and not the fact that a *way* larger avatar is animated? Dunno, man. Dunno...)

I feel like I should hear the quacking noise whenever magicman is lurking.
Heh, that's cool. Now my eyes will be drawn to his avatar all the time.
Also I'm jealous now. Let's whine! You should release more badges like this! Like a DMOD of the year winner badge!

Speaking of D-Mod of the year, there are a few years where there wasn't a voting on the best D-Mod. I was actually thinking at one point how it'd be cool if we held a late DOTY voting for all those years at once.
Haha, that's brilliant. Love the hover text.
Magicman, your club coming out of the image border slightly makes it looks really 3D.
