So you guys reelected Bush. 4 years downhill wasn't enough. Now the world will be even more unsafe than before.

<Sigh>

Strength to all who care.

I'm just glad I don't live in the US... With Bush ruling the country I foresee MORE terrorist acts instead of less...

He better not bring it to Europe, if he does, I'm moving to the South Pole.

Anyone own US savings bonds? If bush makes the US economy collapse, those bonds will be worthless. Too bad the election was about mud throwing instead of issues.

So... nobody else in the world can have any problems with who is elected to the most powerful position in the world?

And yeah, nobody should criticize America, because we don't even bother anyone else at all...

"We" relected Bush? You think I wanted Bush to win? This is why I will never vote: my vote will never count.

"Democracy" is so screwed.

I was about four months too young to vote, but in any case, I wouldn't have voted for Kerry, because he was part of a congress which rolled over and let Bush go to war instead of deliberating cautiously on the issue. Bush largely won because of "moral issues", which brings me to a rant about christians.

Religious Right Wing Protestants: at what point did the church become obsessed with sex? The bible, from what I've seen, is much more concerned with "love thy neighbor" and giving money to the poor than outlawing abortion or fabulous marriage or preventing premarital sex. And even if the good book tells you not to practice something, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO FORBID IT TO OTHERS? Honestly, if homosexuals are going to hell anyways, why do you care if they get married? Marriage in the USA is not a Christian institution. If a Buddhist man and a Muslim girl love each other very much, they can marry as much as they want, so why not two men?

I would carry on, but meh.

Yeah, look at it from the other side buddy. Maybe he voted to stay but was in the minority? Don't generalize or assume something before you have the facts.

?? Um, I'm pretty sure Kerry voted to go to war. Tal has a point though... I'm not saying that all Christian fundamentalists are bad, I'm just saying that their priorities make little sense to me. I'm not Christian, but it seems that politically active Christians all concentrate on issues that seem to have little to do with their faith as I understand it. Maybe there's a good explanation... maybe not.

The reason Kerry and most of the democrats who voted to go to war was that they publically agreed with the information at that time, and they could have, if they were smart, claimed to have been misled. The real reason they voted that way, even if they didn't agree with it was simple, to save face. Gotta love politiking.

They had me convinced at the time. Until I found out they were negotiating reconstruction contracts as early as 1998 with companies owned by politicians.( And that's why some think Bush was behind 911- but that's a stretch...)

My previous post was mostly a contradictory joke inspired by my Creative Writing teacher. I posted it for a reason, though I do not remember why; it could have been for what you thought it was.

I do agree that a very large portion (not all) of Christian fundamentalists and extremists tend to have ridiculous ideas though. I probably will not elaborate further.

I doubt that Bush was behind 9-11... however, I do know that they were planning for the Iraq invasion for quite a long time (as you said). But that kind of makes you wonder why they planned everything so poorly for the part after Saddam was out of power. Could they have planned that part poorly on purpose?

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
Even though I'm not really into the political stuff, it's still interesting to read the theory of what really would've happened on 9-11:

They want to 'pick' who is elected in Iraq. And the longer the construction companies are there, the more the companies owners make.
All at the taxpayers expense....
I find the theory on that 'serendipidy' site unlikly. Too many loose ends and witnesses. At worst, they did have contacts arrange it with real terrorists, and at best, the government used it to forward thier own corrupt plan (and make themselvs rich).
Here is what Dick Cheneys' company Halliberton is getting;

As the Chicago Tribune points out, Bin Laden's latest video finally puts to rest any doubts that 9/11 was performed by al Qaeda. And yes, Bush probably wanted to go into Iraq at least since he was "elected", and perhaps earlier. 9/11 was a wonderful excuse, but he'd have done it anyways.

You have to wonder how many Christians are extreme, so to speak. For instance, my state is very conservative, but compare the 65% that Bush received to the 80% that voted to ban fabulous marriage and limit civil unions. Freedom is the distance between church and state.

And so many people say they want freedom, when they really want don't. It's confusing at times, but it the end, it all works.

Some people wonder why so few Americans bother to vote. Could it be you have to wait HOURS to get to the polling booth?! Why do they put up with it?

It's one of Bush's many evil plans. The only people stupid enough to vote for him are also the only ones stupid enough to queue up for so long.

Oh, and I voted for Bush. Suck it.

Nothing wrong with voting for Bush... he's a fairly moderate candidate (by comparison with his party), perhaps more moderate than Kerry. This election seemed very odd though, Kerry wanting to socialize medicine and now Republicans trying to get rid of the (graduated) income tax... no respect for the status quo in a very tight election.

Oh, and the republicans won't do too much damage. They can't kill social security, although they might run the dollar into the ground with all these taxcuts.

It'll be the death of our dairy farmers if they do.

Why the heck are we STILL a dependant economy? Did we learn nothing from the Long Depression?

Obviously.
