Once again, it is time for the annual DOTY, Download Of The Year!!. It is your only chance, to vote for the D-Mod, and non D-Mod file, which you think are the absolute best of the past year. Of course, during the year of 2011, we have had the 4 exciting RRR's to choose, which two D-Mods and non D-Mod files, from each quarter of the year, should have a place in the DOTY! However, to make this year's DOTY even more exciting, we have more Non D-Mod files to vote for, than perhaps ever before! Yes, that's right. Due to many non D-Mod files earning the same amount of votes in 2011's RRR's, we now have a whoppin' 9 non D-Mod files to vote for!!

If you have an amnesia, you can check the usual rules from the last RRR.

Due to The Dink Network being sorta low-budget *aherm* no prizes will be given out to the winners. However, they will earn a note in their files' description, and will forever be standing in the hall of fame of Dinkers!!

Nope. Avoca went to the fourth place in RRR Q3, and Wallpaper in third place in RRR Q4.

Hmmm... voting for this year's D-Mod is gonna be hard. So many quality D-Mods, but I think I'll go with Valhalla. Not because of its quality but cause I had the most fun with it. Cause it's an old file never released, it certainly gave me that nostalgic feeling and for the first time in long, it made me just have to play the D-Mod. Everything in the game from storyline to music was just filled with a nostalgic feeling. Don't know why, but that's just how I felt and why I'm voting for it.

For non D-Mod files I'll go with Shady Stranger. Just because it's simply the best of the non D-Mod files.

Non-dmod files... Huuuuh. I think that WDE+2 probably deserves it the most, but I'm gonna vote for DD's midi pack. (WDE+2, Shady and the midi pack were all awesome)

D-Mods: Broken windows
There are 3 others I would like to choose because they were excellent dmods and a great play, but I think for stretching ole dink to the limit Broken Windows really was such an innovative idea its gunna take out my vote this time.

Non D-Mod files: No Vote
First time I have ever wanted to vote for one of my own files, I really think shady is worth it but, no vote cast in this section by me because I don't believe its kosher to vote for your own files

I didn't play any DMODS.

Non DMOD: Shady Stwanger.

Save that vote for a tie to break.

Non D-Mod: WDE+2, with Shady Stranger coming a close second! They're both good and such different files it's hard to choose.

D-Mod: None... Like MsDink, I find it hard to vote for or against myself
Power of Blood would probably be my choice if I wasn't in the running though, heh.

This was really close between WDE+2 and Shady Stranger, but I think I'll have to go with WDE+2.

Lots of great stuff in the running for D-Mod file, but Broken Windows was really innovative. My vote goes to it.

Non d-mod: WinDinkEdit 2

Shady Stranger, DinkDude95's midi album and the above were all good choices, but WDE2 has the most potential to encourage people to get back on track to modding, so nice work and keep it up!

D-mod: Broken Windows

It was short, but it was more fun than anything. This is a good direction for modding in general to head in - more inventive systems, less default Dink graphics, and very good scripting to hold it all together. Valhalla and Blacksmith's Trail also felt nostalgic.

D-Mod: Broken Windows.

Non: Shady stranger.

D-Mod: Broken Windows. Amazingly scripted, lots of original ideas. Funny, too.

Non D-Mod: WinDinkEdit Plus 2. Easily the most useful new file around.

D-Mod: I guess Broken Windows, even though I haven't made much progress yet in it. It's one of the most original d-mods I think I've ever seen.

Non D-Mod: MsDink's graphics pak 3. They're all very original. MsDink has a big creative streak

Can Mattie even vote?

That's a really good question. The rules do state that very new accounts can't vote. However, as Broken Windows doesn't seem to have any challenge, I think I'll count that vote. In case another D-Mod rises to challenge Broken Windows, I may take his vote down.

I'm not going to include his non D-Mod vote though, because he didn't vote for the currently "superior file".

What does it matter? In the end his vote doesn't change anything. I just tried to make it nice so everybody can be equally happy and I won't appear as a total jackass towards him. But fine, I won't count his vote if it bothers you so much.

well i already voted(though not said in the post the choice wasn't easy as my choices barely and i mean barely where the better(like in a scale of 1 to infinite just half a point apart from my second choices)))

I'm still not very sure what to do with Mattie's votes. He doesn't seem to be a duplicate account nor of any trouble, but on the other hand, he's really new and the rules state new members shouldn't vote. Any suggestions?

The purpose of the rule is to prevent people from voting multiple times, so it would be fine to count his vote (actually, it would be a bit of a justice murder not to count his vote at this point, since it's very clear by now he's not a dupe account of any kind ).

I'm with scratcher. The point of that rule is to prevent people from cheating in the voting, and Mattie has only proven himself to be a contributing member to our community. Besides, the more votes the merrier. I would rather have a bunch of votes from new members than the usual six or seven from the regulars. >_>

WDE+2 for Non-Dmod. If I had to change SS would've been my vote, but WDE+2 is just so much more useful to me right now.
