Is this true?
I just went to the dinktionary site for the first time and I saw that Morrowind is a forbidden word or something. Is this true? because I think Morrowind rocks (not that it makes me play less Dink Dink rocks too! Mmm maybe they should start a rock and roll band together) so.. is it bad that I named Morrowind?
Yes. Can some admin please close this thread and IP-ban this sinner?
You blasphemer!
In reality, I like morrowind quite a lot too. I have even looked into it's modding capabilities. (I know &me == &sinner, I'm sorry ) Still Dink is a lot more fun (to me), as well as that the community is a lot nicer.

Yeah. How great Morrowind may be it never beats the Dink Network
Morrowind is a 'fake' banned word. It became a problem when some members of the community (such as DethLord) would say "Morrowind is better than Dink because..." in nearly every post they wrote.
It came to be a bit annoying. WC probably started the 'banned' thing, and at one time I replaced all instances of 'Dink' with 'Morrowind' for fun, or the other way around, I don't remember.

Wasn't there once an april joke special featuring "The Morrowind Network"? Or is that just one of my bizarre dreams of this place.
You know, I just installed morrowind last week...
I'll shut up now.
I'll shut up now.
Morrowind is cool. But soon there will be a new banned word OBLIVION!! *Praises*
Ah I love ElderScrolls... err and dink.
Ah I love ElderScrolls... err and dink.
I personally find Morrowind to be mind-numbingly boring (though I intend to give it a second chance eventually). I was wondering if anyone else here feels the same way.
You probly disliked it due to the bad AI of the npc's. But that has all been changed in Oblivon. They really come to life
How do you know that if it hasn't been released yet? Aside from Bethesda's claims, the only way to really tell is to actually play it.
I see your oblivion and raise you an Supreme Commander.
'Cause you just *know* that game won't be playable decently untill atleast 2009. Hell, you can still have Total Annihilation bring brand new machines to their knees. (Given you remove the units cap)

Uh, I probably disliked it because, uh, I disliked it as a whole. It didn't strike me as engaging. While I'm sure some of it could be attributed to lame NPCs, I wouldn't say that was all of it. I'd say it also has something to do with weak melee combat and dull strides across the countryside, conversations that unfolded like dull encyclopedias, a world that seemed... excessively plain... ah, I really can't even put it in words. I didn't like it.
All that has been changed! Theyve put much more effort into comabat and it is no longer as 'plain' The Creators of the forest generator actually studied how trees grow, rocks form and how errosion effects the forest...
There are 200 hand crafted dungeons and 1000 fully voice acted NPC's all with their own personalities. The music once more should also be brillant. They said the key to this new one was reinvention and immersion.
As you walk though a forest you will here the birds chirping and some incects and animals also. Then clouds slowly start to roll in. The wind picks up and the trees starts to sway more vicously, then with a crack of lighting a massive storm will start.. Everything acts with the whether.
Then you get to oblivion itself. Wide open expaneses of this elderscrolls hell.
The landmass will be %140 the size of morrowind, not counting the dungeons and plains of oblivon.
This one will be far from plain, try to play it when it comes out. It will be better than morrowind.
Also Surpreme Commander should rock. If Total Annilation is anything to go by. I just hope it supports fan made units like the last one..

One thing that the oblivion chapter movies showed that isn't that great is that the mouths don't really sync with the voices. It's a bit disconcerting...
I sincerely doubt Oblivion will turn me onto the series, but I will give it a try in the (likely) event that a friend purchases it.
If you didn't like morrowind, I sincerely doubt you will like oblivion. It's the same kind of game. All they did was improve uppon the concept, the concept is still pretty much the same.
I liked morrowind quite a lot, but buying oblivion? I've first gotta see the specs.

Its pretty heafty but as long as you have at least 1 gig ram and a pixel shader supported card you should be able to run it..
My computer can barely run it..
People on the forums said 640-480 Medium-high graphics 1024-blah low

Dude, what the hell are you talking about? The game won't be released within the next 4 years and you're talking about it like you just purchased it yesterday.
Actually Oblvion's realese date is in.. 10 days.
And I know how it should run since there is a offical thread that you can find out how it will run on the forums

Are you serious?! Are you sure?!! I would LOVE that. In 10 days WOW! MUST BUY!! (This still doesn't make me play less Dink )
WAUW! ME TOO!! . (For those who still don't get it: NOTHING BEATS DINK AND THE DINK NETWORK!)
The only two official things I've heard are "early 2006" and "not before february". Most sites I've seen state it'll be released the 21st of march, with a few obvious comments as "early 2006 could as well be september".

I wonder if you're talking about the completely missing who-do-I-want-to-support feeling in Morrowind and the fact you don't get emotionally attached to the NPCs, that was the biggest drawback in Morrowind for me. I sincerely hope they've managed to change that, Morrowind just felt somehow empty.
Though I did enjoy playing the game, I had fun sneaking behind things and critical-hitting them with an axe, for one thing.

Oh man, I got my facts wrong there. I thought it would take x years before it even got beta, oh well.
If it really turns out each NPC has its own voice and there are over 1,000 then I'll easily go insane dealing with so many personas.
Crazy,
The Vault Dweller

Heh, I think it will be more like just a few actors giving a ton of lines.
Personally, I loved getting myself lost in Morrowind, wondering what mysteries I would find in the next dungeon and where the next quest I undertook would lead. Seriously, just a lot of fun.

Ah, M*rrowind.
I considered buying it a few months ago, but alas it will be one of those games I will never play. If I had a computer that was a little more powerful, and 60 bucks to spare, I might pick up Oblivion. I must admit I was slightly intrigued after I read about it.

Oh and all that something of march beep must be wrong. My EB games is saying first of feb and even has the boxes on the shelf
Ebgames.com says Oblivion will be released March 20th.
And those "boxes" may be preorder boxes, or the actual game box with no game released several weeks/months prior.
I've never understood people who buy a game as soon as it hits the shelves... You didn't have this game for your entire life, so what's the difference in not having it for another month? If you wait for another month you have a better knowledge of the game because of the reviews tat are written by that time.
So tell me why do people want to buy a game as soon as it's out?
And will the word oblivion be banned?

I dunno, rationally you're right but suppose you've been waiting for that game for 2 years. A whole online community purchases the game and you're still waiting for the reviews Well, if a game is just that good, there's no need to wait for the reviews anyway.
I want to buy the game as soon as possible because waiting another month is boring. And I'm sure I'm going to like it so waiting for the reviews has no use. And if I buy it sooner I can review it myself.
"And Will the word oblivion be banned?" I hope not. And there is no reason for it as long as no one gets botherd by it. So... Don't go bothering around with it and remember that Dink Smallwood still is a good game. (is this gramitica and spelling alright? Hmm... Sins when did I bother? )

I think that american EB site hasnt been updated in awile
In that case it should say: "Christmas 2005", "Winter 2005" or "TBA"...
Because I have noticed the release date to be delayed, but I haven't seen anny accelerated date yet...

I realize there's probably some irony in me saying this, but you people take things way too seriously.

Maybe so; after something like this, maybe I should never take you seriously.

Now I should delete that blog, nobody will take me seriously after this.
When I read the blog discussion I just kept waiting for Phoenix to use me as an example, but he didn't. I'm really confused now
