Remember the DOTM awards? Well, it's dead. Mr. None probably killed it.

There is no use dwelling in the past though. There's something better now! Give a warm welcome to the Recent Release Rumble! The Recent what? Check out the comments, silly.

The Recent Release Rumble (RRR) (not to be confused with a certain party game) is basically the DOTM awards, but better. Instead of a monthly contest, the Recent Release Rumble is being held quarterly. The basic rules are as follows:

1) You can vote for one Development file and for one D-Mod. You cannot vote for two D-Mods or two Development files.
2) Voting is done by posting a reaction in this topic with your choice.
3) If you want to vote anonymously, send a private message with your vote to Scratcher or Christiaan.
4) You can not change your vote. So make sure you think before voting!
5) Only "well known" members are allowed to vote. This means that no ghosts or really new accounts can vote. This is done to prevent people from voting with alternate accounts.
6) Discussion about the files is encouraged. But please, no spamming or attacking other members!
7) The two Development files and the two D-Mods with the highest amount of votes of each RRR will participate in the Download of the Year Awards for their respective category in february next year.

So what are you waiting for? Cast your vote! Voting ends next saturday.

The choices for this RRR include all files released in the first quarter as well as the second quarter. The choices are:

Development files

Cliff-water tiles
Duck Approved
Dink Smallwood FreeMap
Dink Approved
The Dink Smallwood quest script generator
An introduction to DMOD making
Afterimages
List of Available Sequences for Dink.ini

Dev File: An Introduction To DMOD Making
This file is awesome in so many ways. It covers a lot of things most other tutorials don't, and it does it well.

Dmod: Chores
I just plain enjoyed this DMOD the most.

Defiantly Chores for best D-Mod! As for development file... I don't know really. I like afterimages a lot but An introduction to DMOD making is a huge helpful file. I'll give my vote to An introduction to DMOD making.

Chores for best DMOD because it was very well made. An introduction to DMOD Making as the best development file, it is of great help.

Don't you want people to have some time to check out your file first, josh?

My votes:

Development: An introduction to DMOD making

D-Mod: Infinidink (it's 50/50 for me between this and Chores, but seeing as how Chores is clearly going to win anyway...)

Interesting idea!

I suppose this system could use "checkboxes" to select the votes. Or "radio checkboxes".. you name it.
And automatically linked with the account.

Anyway, I will not vote this time. Have seen none of them.

Dev: List of Available Sequences for dink.ini

It's a pretty handy summary of the unused sequence slots. If I felt any need to be objective or were new to dmodding, I would pick the introduction to dmod making. As I'm not, I don't. Huzzah!

Dmod: Infinidink

I only played Chores for a few minutes. I didn't find being an errand boy without the option to slaughter the errand giver particularly exciting... So I just quit. Sorry Madsy.

Infinidink had some cool spells, and it was occassionally fun, though the enemies didn't multiply/get stronger fast enough, so it was mostly boring. Still, from these competors, that was the one I liked most.

I vote for An introduction to DMOD making and Chores, with Afterimages or the list and Infinidink being runners-up
No wait I mean Duck Approved!! ..Can't change my vote? Rats.

Chores was great, lots of littles funny bits and actually enjoyable to play, rather than just trudging to and fro doing random errands for random people.
Well I suppose it is that... but in a good way
Infinidink was great fun and the music I thought was well chosen, but I'd still pick Chores out of the two.

Okay, I'm gonna go for Infinidink. Chores was much more fun to play, but Infinidink had some great new magic which I've never seen before, so wooh!

For the development file, I'll pick An Intro to DMod making, though I really think that the script generator has some great potential! I'll vote for the final version of that one.

Winners get an amazingly cool "Best D-Mod of Q2 2009" in its description with a link to the results.

In addition, the numbers 1 and 2 of each category of each Recent Release Rumble (so 8 D-Mods and 8 non-D-Mods in total) will participate in the Download of the Year awards. Winner of the Download of the Year will receive a price, but I'm not sure what price that will be yet.
