Wanted: pre-beta testers/critics
Not only will it be my first D-Mod but I have made fairly drastic changes to the gameplay.
It is actually intended for the failure D-Mod contest but I don't know if I will make it. Regardless, it would probably be a good idea for you not to participate if you are in the contest and probably not if you are making a D-mod that will be released before mine.
It also may be of note that this D-Mod includes some rather perverse content so take that in mind if you are considering the testing.
I can't really offer anything in return for this other then a mentioning in the credits and being able to see some new and interesting scripts and ideas before everyone else.
Thank you for reading.
(is this the right board?)

I'll beta-test it for'ya
I enjoy testing and criticising.... actually more of the latter... but thats not the point. I would be happy to beta-test for you, as long as it is not too big of a file... my address is colin@holser.com.
As for perverse content... I have played through all of the levels of Progeny, and so I am pretty sure I can handle whatever you throw at me... though not my preferable style, I will not be too biased at you for this... but hey, if you have yourself and Glenn, then you might as well have someone who can the devil's advocate

Apparently I won't be able to send them out right away as I have some security issues with my PC and I want to make sure I don't give you guys a virus or something...
...Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
Thank you for your interest.
Von Zeppelin, there is quite a bit of 'new' and new graphics... ...how large is too large?

I can Beta, and it doesn't matter how large it is beause my computer is kickass, so if you decide to send it to me, its Gitr_Done4990@hotmail.com
Well, it is not filesize that really bothers me so much, but the length of the D-Mod itself... if it is 1-5 hours long, I can handle it... but if it is about -epic- length, then count me out. It is not that I do not like epic D-Mods, it is just that I really do not have enough time to THAT much testing while simultaneously trying to finish my own D-Mod (I am testing it myself), and study for school. I can fit in about 5 hours for testing on any one day at most, but no more. As for *new*, I am now very intrigued with this D-Mod... I would also like to take a look at the script. When you had first told me that it was technically different, I was worried, because there have been many trite and tiring D-Mods made like Phantasmagoria, in which a new style of scripting was releaved- but all you really got to do was kick pillbugs. The other thing that happens with these type of D-Mods is that they get released as a demo and never ever get finished- I can think of WAY too many examples of that.
So, if you have really changed things that much- then I would love to be merciless (my father had once said that software testing was akin to trying to drive while seeing how many types of engine failure you can produce). I hope that you can resolve this "security issue" because I really wondering how you change things, what you did to change things, whether it works, and whether I like it compared to the original gameplay or not.

Well, I'd like to beta-test it, but right now, I'm busy with my DMOD for the contest. Still, if you won't release it for the contest, I'd like to beta-test it.
Okay I finally almost have the first version of 90% or so of the game ready for beta testing however it needs a runthrough by me first and to have the odd bug I posted about fixed first...
I might as well tell you peoples the adult-ish content is not really graphic (unlike Simon K's D-mods) but more implyed and in the dialog.
Oh, and a important additional thing I forgot to say earlier is that this D-mod is set at a higher difficulty then usual (though Dink attacks faster) but I have included a button that adds 500 experience for the beta testers.
And I am releasing the source which includes some interesting code such as that to allow enemies to fly over all types of hardness, spells which take multiple factors into account when deciding the power; screen locks that only occur if you enter at certain parts of the screen; enemies that fire shots in your direction depite your relative position; a map that attaches screens in ways that don't make sense; and more...

I'll beta-test it for you... and I'm happy to spell-check too... just send it to icedomina@hotmail.co.uk k? (oh, and let me know you're sending it, cause I don't always check that account)
It sounds really interesting!
It sounds really interesting!
ill test it but only if its less than 30mb bcuz i have dial up
Sorry Large Boy, but the filesize is already over 38mbs... ..but since the pheonix boss is not really complete yet anyway I suppose I can take that folder out which would put it at around 29-30 MBs...XD
And yes to take the Q literally...XD ...You can Beta test too Sea Monkey...
Which brings up:
For everyone
I have the first 90-95 percent of the game pretty much ready enough for beta testing...
If you want to beta test what I have so far just say so. I would appreciate the earlier input...
I will be sending this via message to those who have already posted though anyway...

i can handle it since i can puase downloads so dont take anything out. oh and its phat not fat :]
Beta testing a D-Mod's usually a good idea, but you might wanna get crackin' on wrapping this one up.. the deadline for the contest is the 18th.
It'll be sometimes before, or after, necromancer.
So what you're saying is that it cannot be on necromancer? Just before or after? Bah, I say. Bah.
I would hope the next contest is not on Necromancer. I can't even imagine what that would entail. Maybe the contest would be hidden within Necromancer, or worse, Necromancer and the contest would engage in wild, nonsensical reproduction.
Play through Pilgrim's Quest and judge for yourself...
