scary games
So what is the scariest game you've played that would be in the demons, aliens, mythical creature ( vampires etc) category? I liked Masquerade but there must be some current newer games out there that will keep you on your toes. Anyone know of any?
Defenitely Project Zero/Fatal Frame 1 and 2.
Those games scared the **** out of me! And I'm not kidding when I say I've screamed a lot of times during those games. There are simply no better horror games out there. Oh, and they're about ghosts.

Great! Scarier the better! Are they new ones or made for 95 computers? I've got some really good ones. Has anyone ever played the (old) Quivering?
As I have said more times than I can count: System Shock 2... and that's older than Masquerade:Redemption.
That reminds me, I still need to beat that game. I think I was fighting the Giovanni last...

Aria Giovanni? Yeah, I think I'd hit that too.
Ive heard about Fatal Frame...I wont get anywhere near it now!
How about Alien vs. Predator 1? Dark environs...fighting alone...realistic sounds and alien behavior...
It all lead to the most scary moment in my history of playing video games...I was in an abandoned Terran settlement and I had just killed three xenomorphs running around in a office room. Its dark, but Im not scared cause after killing them my motion tracker stopped its incessant beeping. So I go to leave the room when I hear a crunching sound. I look down at the corner and throw a flare. It illuminates to show a (head grabbing thing?) creature that is the first stage of a xenomorph. Before I can pull the trigger it leaps at me lightning quick. Suddenly, the screen is filled with its form as (from first person perspective mind you) it shoves its embryo tube down my throught. Keep in mind it was late at night and Im sitting alone in front of the computer with no lights...I leapt out of my seat.
Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Man, that was just too predictable.
What about Realms of the Haunting? Closest thing for me to crap my pants.
Actually, Aria sort of turns me off... there's something about her I find repulsive. But the joke was obligatory.
Eh, do I got a story for you!
Well, back in me wee old days, when the nintento still roxored, (well, it still does, but..) I had this game called Dragon Warrior. And boy, does it kick ass. Well, I was a very cautios(sp?) adventurer, getting to level 40 by only killing slimes. The reason for that was, because early on in my advernturing days, I crossed a bridge. I know, I know, it was foolish, but do it, I did, and I encountered a skeleton. Now I don't know about you, but that very pixilated badly drawn graphic scared the shoot out of me. I went sleepless for weeks, and it took me another two months to regain the courage to continue the game.
Yes, pathetic. But still, the scariest moment evar.

Hey dont feel too bad Chrispy. I remember Dragon Warrior...it kicked ass! You must be quite the adventurer to get to level 40 only killing slimes. I think I remember that skeleton too...he seemed to pop out of the screen at you.

Yeah.
I find her to be in that "sometimes pretty darn hot, sometimes meh" category.

Yes, but later on in the game it was quite satisfying to walk around, meet a (blue) slime, and watch it sucumb to the allmighty 'morehurt' spell. Although, I must say, the exp and gold limiters in that game were extreamly wierd. Some completly random number it seemed. And no, I don't think it was a 2-bit varible either.
Project Zero/Fatal Frame is the scariest piece of entertainment EVER. No film comes close. Neither does any other game.
I haven't played it in months, and am nowhere near to completing it. I don't think I ever will finish it either... those kids just freaked me out too much.

I know what you're saying, I haven't finished PZ1 yet either, but I do intend to.
You talking about the kids from the grandmother clock or from under the bed? They both freaked me out.

I would like to play FF and PZ but that's only available in PS, isn't it?
