Sounds like this could turn out very well actually.
Looking forward further information about this.

This sounds exciting, always nice to see mods that don't completely contradict the original game.
Although it does kind of do that itself... What are you going to do about the stuff with the secret ice castle?

Doesn't the random purple hunter in Dink Smallwood say that a powerful magic user teleported the goblin castle to the icelands.. I think he does...

Yep, I think someone mentions that, too. The problem with the ice castle is the chat Dink has with the wizard- Dink says that the goblin wars ended over a hundred years ago, while the guards at GoodHeart castle tell it was due to the current king's strategic brilliance that they won the war... It's not a contradiction, technically, would just make King Daniel a hundred-something years old. =]
Multi character gameplay excites me.
Hm, perhaps King Daniel is immortal? Or he bathes in the blood of virgins to stop from aging?

Dink just used an example when he said "100 years ago". He was just annoying the wizard, y'know.
Back then, it was unlikely anyone reached 50 years, so it is extremely unlikely King Daniel is over a hundred years old.
Why would there have been only one goblin war? I mean the wizard could just be a couple of years behind...

>implying that Dink is based on historical fact, and that the king wouldn't be able to get some cool magick (like blood of virgins or whatever) to make him immortal.
Remember that the game is full of holes. For example where do Milder and Chelsea live? Where does the bridge toll collector go after you pay him? Where does that wizard guy go to after you kill the monster in the cave?

Milder obviously lives in the GoodHeart castle. Chelsea well... she probably lives with her sister that she mentioned.
>Implying that Milder was born in the castle and never lived anywhere else.
Where does her sister live then? Aha.
Where does her sister live then? Aha.
Milder was born and grew up in Stonebrook, but when he joined the royal guard he moved into the castle obviously.
Chelsea's sister lives in PortTown. You should really pay more attention to the dialog and that stuff, Toast.

Where is Milder's house? It's not Ethel's or SmileStein's.
There is also no PortTown, it's just empty map space.

There probably were more houses in Stonebrook at some point, or different people living in the houses. PortTown is a place that was supposed to be in the game, but never made it in. Doesn't mean it still doesn't exist somewhere else than in the game's map area.
Seriously, it's pointless to talk about these things cause they are things that were never supposed to be thought about. Same things as Dink's age and that stuff.

There are never enough houses to house all the NPCs in RPGs. It's a law of physics in RPGs, as is the fact that houses are larger on the inside.

That was kinda confusing but the castle guards say:
King Daniel has ruled with an iron hand for nearly a decade now. It was his strategic brilliance that stopped the Great Goblin invasion of '23.
Based on that and the 'wanderers' I've created the date of 1023, which is a more than a decade before Dink's adventure... If I go further I can spoil the game story But the game King isn't the ol' Danny yet
That wizard I guess he was a bit crazy or he was lost in time during an ancient goblin war...
EDIT: I've found this... Quite confusing.
Ooooo, well, both the city and its castle were destroyed during the last part of the war 100 years ago.
Dink says that to the wizard which says to be protecting the castle... This talk conflicts to many other NPC's in game, I presume Dink is wrong or Seth was

So based on the knights saying it was King Daniel that won the war.. does King Daniel become king during the latter years of the war (thus giving him credit for winning the war) or is he some sort of strategic general that wins the war and becomes king because of his great feat?
Edit:
It's probably easiest to presume that there were 2 goblin wars: an old one and a recent one. Or just pick which one you want to fit your story around.

My story is based on what rabid just said.
indeed, Dink says on that talk that the goblins didn't fought for a hundred years... Based on that the last war happened 100 years ago
I'm on the final edits!!
To do:
- Detail some screens;
- Add MIDIs;
- 2 or 3 bugfixes;
- Beta-test!
I would like to know who can betatest GW for me ^^
PS.: I need someone to bugfix my crappy English
IT NEVER HAD ANY MUSIC?!
EDIT: OOH! OOH! I'LL BETA TEST!! I'M A GOOD TESTER!

Happy to test (and fix your crappy English ha! ) PM me if interested and I will send you my email.
Skorn and MsDink? Somehow I feel the game will have worse grammar after you guys are through with it.
Scratcher how rude heh heh I am wounded
... n wot u mean anyways huh?

If you decide to shelf both Skorn and MsDink from the task, I'd be glad to betatest your game instead.
It is a known fact that in Internet, those who are native English speakers, have a worse grammar than those who are not.
I might be able to fix the English... if I cbf'd to play more then the first 5 minutes

If you play more than 5 minutes you'll have done 50% of the game XD
I'll wait some time until choose the testers but I'm not desconsidering anyone (yet)

desconsidering is not a real word, just like Pinocchio wasn't a real boy
Skull, I speak English and I major in English. I'd like to believe that I have great grammar.
Well, that doesn't mean everyone obviously, DrunkPunk.
Awe! Don't be sad Ms Dink. I'll learn ya some english good.

My brain. It left through my behind. Thanks a bunch, MsDink

It's just that those who learn it as a second language learn it incorrectly. That's why they see it that way.

That... doesn't make sense xD Since the books we get to learn the language are written by the native speakers
Well, you don't see many other people than native English speakers say shìt like "1m4fknantlopeewucntspl".
Try as I may, I just can't decipher that I assume it would never pass the language filter if you did spell it out though xD
I actually thought of you as I was writing it magic! But you at least still have your butt then... always a good thing, and at least we know its working now Hands magic a *cold compress* for his brow, hang in there it isn't over yet I fear!
@skull we can spell - we just choose not to
...and you guys can (mostly) spell, its your grammar you need help with! *pokes tongue*

I doubt many native English speakers would know how to speak any other language pretty much at all. If they can even manage their own language completely, as I said.
Soln Arun, srillet... Akarni gro kor hao He'may.
Vad sjutton snackar ni om?
Das ist alles Scheiße. There is some strange beauty in lingual mutation; the non-English speakers fail to realise that "poor English" is nought but a testimony to the languages' flexibility! Shakespeare was the godfather of playing with English. English is like a fashion store - it's all mix 'n' match and all emotive.
Ich glaube daß Castman ist nicht so froch daß wir haben ihren thread kaputt macht.
Yes I have the highest grade in german, the swedish schoolsystem is messed up. ( just like this thread)

So far, Ex-D leads the language pissing contest with his mastery of Klingon.
Hey, what I said is NOT Klingon, Fhüi khlar srillet...
