Morrowind?
Has anyone played Morrowind? I love it, and I have not played in awhile, but I wonder if anyone here has tried it before? It has a map editor and items you can add and stuff.
So anyone ever played it, like it? Ect.

I have played it, loved it. I haven't played it for a while now, most of my playing time for elder scrolls games is going into Oblivion right now. I have played so much morrowind that I don't think there is a lot left to do for my character. I waiting for a final map for this so I can play a lot of time again... Also, morrowind might be able to run on my laptop, so eventually I'll start playing it again.
AAAAH! THE DREADED EVIL OF DINK!! MORROWIND!!
Wasnt morrowind sensored because it was adicting and people swictced to it. Sory about the lousy typing, this comp sux/

Yeah, this place has a bit of a history with Morrowind. I don't remember much, but I think it was mostly just Dethlord raving about Morrowind... Consequently he deleted all his reviews and left.
It's an awesome game.
It's an awesome game.
I have the Game of the Year Edition and it came with Tribunal and Bloodmoon, and just a year ago I figured out how to get it to run in HD 1920x1080 32...
I probably spent the better part of a year doing almost everything there was to do in Morrowind, its expansions and a ton of really good mods. Oh, the countless adventures my Argonian Nightblade had.
Argonian? LOL I always played Dark Elf or the Nord.
Yeah, I finished Morrowind... beautiful game, btw. I didn't do all possible quests, though. I spent about 8 hours last night trying to figure out how to cure my vampirism, then the next four hours sneaking into mages guilds and the arcane university to steal grand soul gems for the witch... in Oblivion
I did like 90% of all quests on mine and got all the way to level 100+
I'll warn you, you dont want to get me started talking about morrowind. no really, I'll make you sick of talking about it... my friends will attest to that.
I picked it because it was one of the few races that didn't have a completely ugly-looking head, plus with an immunity to poison (pretty big deal in Morrowind) and the fastest base running speed, they're by far the most awesome.
i played Morrowind, i didn't like it, but i did like Oblivion.
Oblivion:
+ Much better graphics, gameplay, and combat
+ Magic can actually be useful beyond simple utility spells
- Generic main plot and gameworld
+ Dark Brotherhood plot being pretty fun
- Dark Brotherhood basically being a bunch of cartoony badguys which really breaks from the shades-of-grey Elderscrolls tradition (the Morag Tong were much cooler and ambiguous)
+ Awesome traps
- Dungeons too big and uninteresting
- All enemies scale to your level
- Horse armor BS
Morrowind:
+ Much better storyline all around
- Crap combat and gameplay
+ Much more interesting and unique gameworld (even if it is mostly ashlands)
+ Enemies scale based on region, type, and level (like Fallout 3)
+ Dungeons are just the right size to keep you from getting bored (with a few epic crawls)
- Magic beyond utility spells like levitate is effectively useless
+ Much better graphics, gameplay, and combat

I agree with most of that... Especially the dungeons, oh, they sucked so much balls in Oblivion. I'd just walk past most after a while, whereas in Morrowind stumbling upon a cave was something you look forward to.
Magic isn't useless, though, there's just no middle ground. You almost have to pick a spellcaster race/birthsign, have to use alchemy extensively, and switching between weapons and spells is awkward. But magic can be needlessly powerful if you focus on it.

Bows to MORROWIND!! all hail Morrowind ohhhh awesome game
I Hate the willow-the-wisps.
Anyhow, I play Nord dude expert in blade, sneak, marksman, athletics, acrobatics etc. Oh how I live sneaking up behind some punk and OSKing them with my Daedric long sword.
Currently, I can attack for 21 plus 6x multiplier, effectively 126, i presume.
Ed. You can get a whip mod for Morrowind; I haven't tried it yet though. Incidentally, did anyone think that the Guars looked suspiciously Bonca-ish and the Hungers looked suspiciously Slayer-ish?

Played it, loved it, but never came all that far (to give an estimate: the highest level I've reached is 4 or so).
I would really like to finish it sometime, but I got so many games and hobbies and just one Windows PC I only access occasionally.

I enjoyed Morrowind, but in the end, the game feels more like a spreadsheet than a game.
There are no individuals in the game, everyone says the same thing over and over again, and the dialog trees are horrible. Combat is also a low point in the game.
The world itself is beautifully constructed though. So it succeeds as a sandbox game but the role-playing aspect is terrible.

i played an argonian, but i didn't get far.
Has anyone gone rouge on it, and tried to kill everything in the game including the NPCs? I remember doing that for the heck of it! LOL I would do that 2 ways, makeing them mad at me so I wont get arrested, or do it illegaly and avoid getting cought! LOL It got to wear all the guards in all the lands would attack me just becuase I was the "Bad Guy". LOL
Ahem. Well. I do enjoy doing some parkour around oblivion when under pursuit. I can always get away by donning the ring of the Rumare and swimming away. I'll have to go back and try parkour in morrowind sometime.
Ah, but I hacked my Gear so it was easy to escape! Man I need to get pics of that!
Ok Here is a ScreenShot of Morrowind in FHD 1080P with one of the armors I edited and made magical properties for.
Morrowind ScreenShot of Ace
EDIT: Fixed the size, stupid Imageshack shrank the other one!

Morrowind lags like hell on my comp.
constant 60 FPS here at 1080P but I cap my FPS to 60 so yeah...
Have this line on your Morrowind.ini
Max FPS=60
change it to the number you desire, or if you have a Nvidia card goto Nvidia Control Panel and change Vertical Synce to Force ON or both...

That somehow reminds me of Monty Python's black knight.

You shouldn't compare morrowind to oblivion. Morrowind is like ten years older than oblivon and atleast morrowind has spears and levitation. Of course oblivion would have better graphics.
Old thread, dude.
(Besides, the games can be compared; the gap isn't that large and it IS a sequel in the Elder Scrolls series.)

I disagree - Morrowind has better graphics, not appearing so cluttered. Furthermore, Oblivion sacrificed gameplay for graphics, so that was a bad deal.
Uh, it's not like morrowind actually had that great gameplay either. The reason I liked that game was because it immersed you in a different world, not because of gameplay in any way...
Here's a point no one has mentioned.
Morrowind: Journal and map sucks.
Oblivion: Journal is helpful and gives you a better chance at finding whatever you were looking for. (i.e. the next part of the main quest.)

Geographically, Morrowind has the largest playing ground than any other game, and I agree that Morrowinds journal without pointers suck. Oblivion is overall more fun than Morrowind imo, more stuff to do.
Neverwinter Nights 1. End of story.
I think all the games mentioned in this thread pretty much suck ass.
Obviously, I wouldn't have expected anything else.
Blasphemy! Dink got mentioned too you know, even if it wasn't the full name of the game.
Dink is the name of the character. Dink Smallwood is the name of the game.
Neverwinter Nights was an awesome game.

AAAAH! THE DREADED EVIL OF DINK!! MORROWIND!! Skorn must have refered to the game and not the character because the character Dink doesn't know anything about Morrowind so it can't possibly be the dread of Dink the character.
Neverwinter Nights 1. End of story.
I've never played Neverwinter Nights 1 but I love to play Neverwinter Nights 2. I should probably check out 1 sometime. (yes I know, wrong order )

Ditto. Oblivion had far superior gameplay, you could even hit stuff for a change.
Morrowind had much richer and awesome game world and lore. I especially liked the Dwemer, a cool steampunk race that mysteriously vanished.
Oblivion's Eyelids were not quite as cool.
