How long will it take for my reviews to be accepted or declined. It's been a few days since I submitted each. All my other reviews were accepted/rejected within 2 days...

Daniel, there are clowns.
Sometimes those of us on the staff are lazy or don't get around to it for a couple of days.

Anyway, those reviews have now been taken care of.

Reviews are validated or invalidated as the staff feels like it.

If the opinion is justified and the review appears to be unbiased, it is validated. If it obviously breaks validation standards, it is invalidated. If it doesn't obviously break rules but we think it sucks anyway, it sits around for a couple of days until someone finally does something to it.

Lazy staff members should be paid less. Oh wait, you don't get paid. But seriously, people who are really lazy in their jobs get fired. I'm not saying your really lazy, but Striker said you are lazy, so...

I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to.I guess.
I'd rather have lazy staff than staff that would vacate after getting bored of the job in a week.

Not only that... If you gave less pay for laziness they'd all get payed less. Negative pay for all staff anyone?

This somehow sounds familiar: having to pay to keep a job...

Just kidding: I think the staff is doing a good job. Negative pay is clearly not in order. Maybe we can award them with some free playing time, every once in a while? Being able to play without being bothered by anyone must be wonderful!

Nah, the gross sense of power and entitlement we get from tyranically ruling over and abusing you peasants is payment enough.

*weeps...* Dang, just when I suppressed evry thought of being oppressed along comes Striker and reminds me of my miserable position in life. Thanks a lot, Striker!

Btw (*switches to serious-mode to ask a question*), what's that with the 'peasant'-thing? I just noticed that over my account it says that I am one. What does that mean. Can I be something else? A gardener, or a cook, or what?

Oh, and shouldn't that be 'pig-farmer', instead of peasant?
May 22nd 2006, 04:48 PM

"Peasant" simply means you aren't a member of the staff.

Hm.

Still think we should be 'pig-farmers' or pillbug-smashers or something along those lines. Farmers sounds so loamy.

I rememer that when I was asking about the peasant rank I said it should be changed. I can't remember what my suggested replacment was, only that it was different to yours and that they were not acted upon (but then that's obvious isn't it?). Now, I don't even notice the rank. I hadn't even thought of it for ages until you brought it up. I'm just used to it by now.

I never even noticed it, until Striker mentioned it

Maybe the subject for a contest? "What should the non-staff memebers be called"?

What about eh... Peasant?

Dink smallwood himself proved that a peasant can be a hero, so take pride in it.

I think us few who use our avatars or whatever that make it a knight of some type, I think we should be called 'peasent-knight'

The rank "peasant-knight" is a contradiction. Peasant is a lowly rank and knight is a high rank equivalent to duke.

Actually, a Knight is the lowest rank of European aristocracy (which is still way better than a peasant)... not something anywhere near as lofty as a Duke, which usually is ranked just below a King or Prince.
May 25th 2006, 12:33 AM

I thought a Duke was lower than that... Oh, well, that's besides the point. The point is that knight was a way higher rank than peasant.

Yeah, the point was correct, even if part of the statement was false.

Typically, in Western European nobility, the rank, from top to bottom is:

Emperor
King
Prince
Duke
Marquis
Count/Earl
Viscount
Baron
Knight

There were other titles, as well, but that's what I would consider the basic structure. And of course, not all sovereign nations had Emperors, so without anyone with that title, the King would be at the top of the aristocracy.

So my rank should be "dragon"? Some should be "fish"? And others "man" or "woman"? Nah, I think we should stick with "peasant" rather than the a confusing myriad of ranks for the same thing.
