Programmers Needed...
apparently, some of the programmers +cough+ have stopped working on the windemere project temporarily. i think that if the community wants windemere to even be released, they should ask the developers how they can contribute. needless to say, a lot of progress has been made, but i fear that, as the completion of the project is nearing, our developers are starting to lose interest as well as motivation. they can't do everything by themselves, and that's partially the reason why merlin proposed the idea for the interface contest, which i'm in the process of working on. so, if you're one of the diehard fans that's willing to go through anything to see the release of the engine, i strongly suggest either contribution to the programming of the project or sending each of the developers money.
And its so close...
If someone could finish the editor there might be bigger interest in the engine. (I guess its obvious that people want an engine to run the mod they made huh...)
I kinda saw this coming. When you make something that takes so long you can forget the reason for starting (if only briefly).

I'm afraid that, unless the code is simple enough for my limited skills to work with, I can't be of any help, even though I've been awaiting the release since the beginning.
It's true what Ric says, when something drags on too long people tend to lose interest. Some people say its best to put it aside for a short time, but I don't think that's true. The longer you put it aside the less interest is left in the end.
I'm not one to speak, but maybe you should just push on just a little longer. Often, when I'm programming something and I kind of lose interest, I push myself to finish a certain aspect. After that is finished, I tend to be in the mood again. Same thing with playing games. Sometimes I don't feel like playing a certain game until I'm actually playing it again. So, I often push myself to start up the game, play 5 minutes or so and the rest will come by itself. And it's usually true

I hereby offer my services as a programmer...
experience...
I wrote the original MS-DOS language...
I codesigned C
I subverted Perl
I painted in Pascal
I fed the dog some Cobol
And finally I am pretty Basic

lol simon.
If you truely need help, e-mail me and if I get enough free time, I will bust out some code.

we could all use a little help...say, why aren't you working on the windemere project, since you are indeed an experienced c++ programmer? besides the fact that you mostly program with directx and windows-only code i mean
Exellent! I know WC is very capable with editors. (hint hint )
Hmm...This may call for new wallpaper with more names on it.....

illusive.
You stared this project while I was in basic training getting spit on by a screaming training instructor.

by the way, i did not mean for any of that to sound insulting or arrogant in any way. i was just wondering.
What language is Windmere written? in, and what(if any) libraries are you using?.
It's written in c++ and the libraries are listed lower-right.
Merlin is the chief, if you think you can help, contact him.(personal message? email? whatever.)

I think I should add an OpenGL line so people don't think I'm using SDL for graphics.
So, how is windmere progressing? Have any programmers volunteered to help? Has any progress been made? Have the rest of the programmers rejoined you Merlin?
I didn't do anything since my last post, however I think you'll find a piece of my software released to the DN shortly...
EDIT: And you can safely answer "no" to whatever your questions were. lol.
