I have gotten the intro, the stuff in the chest, and the claw sword. What do I need to get further?

Go and visit the arms dealer again. Ask her: "Ask if she can help you win the tournament". Follow her advice.

There's a Claw Sword? But it is buried somewhere, and no clues were given?? Acccckkk this game is driving me nuts!! Where is the Claw Sword buried?? A little hint would be sooooo helpful.

From my brief time playing it, didn't the SBV say he would tell you where the claw sword was if you broke all of the barrels?

When you smash the first barrel Mr SBV tells you that he knows where Dink burried his claw sword when he was on the booze, but he won't tell where, until Dink smashes all of them (30 in total).
Talk to a barrel and SBV will tell you how many barrels you have smashed so far -1

Hmmm... I know the claw sword can cut through bushes and such, and I think I know the place that I must hack through (screen above the bonca hunter) but it won't let me slash it at all.

No, there is nothing to cut down on that screen (above the bonca hunter), try the cellar in the Major's house instead.

If by Major, you mean the old man who won't talk to me, I've already got the food and money.

There is another place to chop down grass. Have you bought a bomb to blow up stuff? You will need one to get there.

I only know of one other place, an area with grass obstructing a golden heart.

You are blocked from the other place till you buy and use a bomb. Blow things up till you find it. Yoe can always tell there's another area to investigate but you can't always get there right away.

I've played the intro, got the claw sword, went back to the weapons dealer & talked to everyone I can find, but I don't know how to progress. Do I need to get to the area above the cliff & how do I do that? Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.

Have you got the key to Dink's locked chest? Or killed the bonca? Have you helped the goblin to find his fortune? Keep going back to places or talking again to people as places might change and people might say something different than what they said before. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I started the game over thinking I'd missed something. Got the claw sword, played the intro, killed the bonca & got the key, got the metal things for the plastic goblin, talked to everyone until they are repeating themselves or won't talk at all, but I can't get anywhere. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Have you bought all magic potions and all weapons? (And the arms dealer have sent you on her quest, and you can't find the entrance to the forest?) Or haven't you got money to buy those things?

hmm..there's more than 1 goblin. Try the one hitting the rock. If you have done the right things and talked to the right people, the goblin will talk to you instead of saying ' go away, ugly human'.

OK, OK, OK - I am happy you figured it out! I am soooooooooooo stuck. What plastic thingy do you need to find and for who?? I have the claw sword, got my key, followed all advice to get bucks, bought as many potions as possible, blew up the rocks in the basement, chopped till my arm fell off, rock bashing goblin will not talk to me at all, talked to everyone at least 100 times, nothing new, prayed and I DON'T GET ANYWHERE!! <( Please HELP!! I don't want to start over or just give up

now..If you bought potions from the seller in the house above where the knight is crying about the ming vases, then go back to the arms dealer and she will talk to you some more. If you haven't bought potions from her yet, you need to talk to the arms dealer first who will tell you to go buy the potions. I really can't understand why you're stuck but post a note if this is the not the point where you are at in the game.

Ace, maybe this is where you are stuck??? Have you talked again to the old guy in the bar that smells?? The arms dealer nor any others will tell you anything new unless you follow the correct order in speaking to people.Once you speak to the correct person, more options will then be opened. Hope this helped you.

I already spoke to the Arms dealer (buy potions, blah, blah, blah, and went and talked to the smelly fellow again, nothing new, repeats same thing.

The only thing I don't think I have is the page re: tournament. I entered the house where there are papers all over the floor and a knight that is whining, he won't talk to me and I can't pick up any papers at all (tried space bar, punching, etc.

now go back again to the arms dealer and talk to her. She has information for you and a quest.
You cannot get the tournament pages till she asks for them.
You cannot get certain things until they are requested or mentioned by people. This is why the rock bashing goblin won't talk to you yet. You are getting ahead of the game. Follow it step by step as you get knowledge.

Have you looked/talked to the stone (blocking the entrance), by pressing SPACE.

Thanks - I decided I must have messed up somewhere. Started over and things are great - made it into the land, looking for the ore. Thanks a lot for your help and offer to get me through it. This is a very challenging game, wow you made me have to think. Great Job!!

Have got 28 barrels. Can't get the single one on
the little island, any help appreciated.

Hit it with a throwing axe.

Already used my throwing axe to sideways hit the three barrels on the adjacent island. If I use it for the single barrel, how do I get to the island
with the three barrels. Thx.

Well, I think that, when you've hit 29 barrels, a throwing axe appears stuck on a tree in the island that has/had a golden heart. Hit the last barrel with it.

You must use your axe to hit the single barrel on the little island first. It will be *gone* then. Return to the adjacent island and it will be on the ground...use it then to hit the 3 barrels. (Found that out the hard way...)

I found the mine with the ore, returned to the arm dealer and said "The mine is empty." "That's too bad."
Killed some slayers and bought the fireball spell, burnt down some trees and got the goodies down these, explored around the lost town, picked up the 'wizard' and the 'dead golem', got a shiny metal thing........... Now what?????

Edit: Also tried to blow up the rocks blocking the other path in the mine, but that didn't do anything.

Go and talk to the guy you sold the apples and hatchet to, ask him if he knows any sword master.

There is no really conection between those steps in the story, in version 1.2, but I have added some sentences about this for the next version, that will make it clear.

But now... how to get back to Amandor (or Amender?) town after poisoning Flux?

The major told Dink that there will be no warp light back to Armend before he has completed what the major told him to do i Niv. When that's done the warp light will appear at the same spot Dink was warped to, from Armend.

And if you done that DO NOT go back to the place where you found the thing that helped you get into elrand's castle in the first place, and use it again, because then the warp will disappear.
(it's a bugg, sorry about that).

Have got all 11 potions,opened my chest, got quest from arms dealer, bombed every rock in the game, retalked to everyone in different sequences, can't find way out of town. Help please! This is one difficult dmod. Thx

with golblin's help. Now just have to get stronger!

When the game says "you are not strong enough", try different options instead of depending on strenght or you are going to be stuck again.

Is there a "right" thing to do with the goblin and the rake? I took it and sold it back to him to get more money, but is there something else I am supposed to do? Other than calling me an ugly human and buying the rake, he won't talk to me.

Maybe it's not moral "right". But you have to keep in mind that Dink have degenerated from this noble knight he once was to a silly boozer, so moral is the last thing he will care about.
He might shape up in the next part, but probable not.

A good advice if you're uncertain about something: save first, then test solving a puzzle, if you fail, you can always reload and start over.

You can easily get a second magic man in Niv.
And about the castle.. well you can't get in through the head entrance, since Elrand is clever enough to lock it so there has to be another way in.... lock around carefully.

Ok, I must be stupid. I have been all over Niv and talked to everyone and have not found another magic man. Can you give me another hint?

Gave poison to Flux's cook, got in Erland's castle, dispatched him, got light sword,freed children,
sold light sword for staff pieces, returned to Armed. Arms dealer tells me to go fight Flux, but to not let him touch me. As soon as I enter arena,
I am DOA, without a chance to fight. Just need a general hint. This is a great game Raven. desertgrl, Kat, MegaDink are very supportive to struggling players. Nice little community.

Before you got to Niv you had the chance to talk a lot with the major. He tells Dink that he will most surely die in the battle with Flux even if he manage to poison him. The major suggest that Dink should find some magical objects which can break down Flux's power. (The arms delar said something like that too). So you have to find more parts of the Raven Staff. You need at least 9 and can get 10

I can only sell 2 apples. Is the third needed for something? Thx anyway, great game so far.

I am so lost in the forest. I went into one building and came out of another. I have covered every square inch and cannot get out. Where have I gone wrong. Great game.

I'm not sure where you are stuck at but if it's the forest to the left of the mad slayers, you get out the same way you got in, past the mad slayers, back thru hole in the ground. Could you be more specific?

I entered one of 4 buildings and warped to a different one. I covered the area and found the 3 parts of raven and lots of money and now I can't find how to get out of the area. I have tried to find a warp spot, go thru the trees and go up the path on the left side of area where the mad slayers are. How do I get back to where I can get into the mad slayers area?

hehe, there is a warp into that house from a spot in the mine town, and this waro shouldn't be there, (so you shoulnd't get to this area before you learned fire ball magic). sorry.

uh. Ok, call me confused. I've warped into that house before but it didn't hinder me. Can't remember the details as it happened while playing the first version. So maybe I am thinking of a different area. Are there two warps in the game? Where exactly is this warp?

This warp is invisible and lies on the same screen as the stone giant corpse, above the house. And, of course, it shouldn't be there at all.

Yep that's the one I used and I had no problem with continuing the game. But I did think it was there for a specific reason. Just can't remember off hand everything about it.

I love this Dmod however it is driving me crazy!! I've started over 3 times and still cannot get the clawsword. I've talked to everyone, sold the sword, bought the magic, guess I'm just stuck!! Is there by chance a walk thru for this Dmod? Thanks for any help!!

You have to smash all the barrels.(20-30 barrels, don't remember) Start with the one in the beginning scene with the girl in it. The green voice in dink's head will explain things after you hit that first barrell in that screen.

I'm still stuck in the first town. I've got the clawsword and the intro, killed the bonca, made plastic goblin disappear, sold rake to other goblin. The armsdealer told me to buy everything, but I don't recall a quest. The goblin-hitting-rock won't talk to me. The stone says "I've got magic runes" or something. The armsdealer is out of arms, I can't afford any spells, and the potion-dealer still offers me potions after I've bought as many as I can. I can't seem to make anything new happen. I haven't found forests or mines alluded to in above posts. Any advice? Thanks!

Found the rest of the posts and the solution. (New to navigating these boards.) Sorry.
