Updated File: WinDinkEdit Plus 2
RW has yet another update for his WinDinkEdit+ 2, highlights of this one include the ability to change the Dink installation folder WDE+2 uses, .ff unpacking, sprite hardness/depth dot changes can be undone, and lots more tweaks!
"(...)exit tile hardness editing without saving(...)"
It's not tile hardness editing, but sprite hardness editing that you can quit without saving!
I was planning on making a help file for this release, but that would have taken an awful amount of time. Maybe another time.
MsDink, if you're here somewhere, could you please test this and update your review? And by the way, double click to add a new screen is not my invention, it was present even in the original WinDinkedit (without plus) !
PS: does the cat smiley have any hidden meaning I don't know of?

Oh yeah... oops
Cat smiley is generally used when saying something nasty or teasing (catty...) I guess, but without actually meaning to be cruel if you see what I mean, at least that's how I use it.

How do you package a dmod with this...
People usually do that with DFArc. I'll add it to 2.4 if you wish. If there'll ever be one.
I really like the way you always find something to improve.

You are my hero.
EDIT: After looking at the new list of updates, you're going to make my life so much easier. Also: Is there a way you could implement multiple screen selection, so that you can copy paste large areas of your map in one go?

Great; Here we go. Time for an onslaught of updates.
You say that like it's a bad thing. For me, having an editor that is being constantly improved is a godsend.
Actually, it appears that if I try to edit the sprite's hardbox/depth dot, it crashes.
Hmm, I just tried it, and it works fine on my PC. If you wish to test, I've made a debug version: go to skydrive2.rwg.ro and from WDE-2.3 download wde_23_logger.zip. Extract the two files into one folder. When a crash occurs in this version it will probably close without any error message, but will create a file called log.txt. Send that to my email.
I'm really curious why WDE+2 doesn't work for everyone. True, there is nearly no attempt to detect errors in the code, but I still find it strange that it runs smoothly on some machines, while on others you get boo-boos.

Hrm. After more testing, it looks like it's just HSL2 that's having troubles with it. I'm emailing you the log.txt anyway.
Problem found. Once again, it came from my assumption that if there is a variable called "info" it actually contains some info . Fix coming soon.
For someone who used Dink Edit a loooooonnng time ago, WinDinkEdit Plus absolutely rules. So easy to edit the map now.
still crashes every time without fail when i wanna change the depth dot and hardness of a sprite
Shouldn't you have suggested using the debug version mentioned above, Sparrowhawk?
That should help more than saying downgrade.

I don't see it as a downgrade when it works better
Thanks for the link sparrow, I like the previous versions better and didn't know I could still access them thanks heaps

Normally yes, but RW's found out what the problem is and will fix it in the next version, in the meantime we just want a version that works
