The Dink Network

I re-did the way that messages are displayed a little bit, basically messing with colors and sizes and borders and whatnot.

I also added Sex icons. No, The Dink Network hasn't turned into The Porn Network (yet), rather you can now show the world whether you're male or female with an icon under your name. You can declare your gender in the Account-Profile area. Its completely optional.

Also... the way that icons (i.e. Peasants, Bards, Nobles, Kings, etc) are handled will be changed a bit in the near future. Peasants will be changed (right now I'm debating between Commoners and Citizens) and you will be able to 'earn' other icons. So if you released a file, you get a Wizard Initiate icon. If you win a DOTM, it is replaced with a Mage icon, and if you win a DOTY, its replaced with a Wizard icon. There will also be some icons for the most active reviewers/message board posters.

Yellow lines only show up on new messages... I think I'll try to dim it a bit.

Hmm, nice I like the icons idea but the icon for most active message board posters could result in messages like:

'Ok, thanks'
'Yeah, you're right'

At least, that's what happened on other boards

It would be completely retroactive, so you'd get a little Initiate icon.

As for icon whores... deleted posts wouldn't count towards the total. And the limit would be 'fairly' low, around 100 or so.

Nice. *likes it* But, uh, what's the red thing under your name and the purple thing under the senior staff members' names? *confused and befuddled by mystery images*

Edit: My account is having issues. It keeps insisting when I try to modify it that my email addy is invalid... but it's not. :S
Edit again: Thanks, it's spiffy now, redink is god.

The red thing is supposed to be a red crown, and the purple thing... I dunno. Someone suggested it was a purple turd, and I can't come up with any better ideas.

SimonK sent them to me in order to entice me to change the icons around... I think I'm going to change them back now though.

Hmm, having trouble seting a gender... Though with a user name like "Paul" it shouldn't be hard to guess.

*ahum* Yeah, things are lookin' good around here. I like the, um, gender icons. They make me feel special for being a silly boy.

Cool, looks like they used my idea (lol referring to post "How do I add my dmod to the dink network??? )

I like it , now at least we cannot mistake ourselves anymore. (unless Redink changes one, like he did with WC )

Well, with ranks implemented, we'll probably be a bit less forgiving when people post garbage. Like redink said (...I think), deleted posts won't help anyone achieve a higher rank.
