I am quite the established writer and am currently taking courses on writing, I plan to be an author when I finish school. I love D-mods, and would love to make one, I can think of a million stories haha! But, I dont know SQUAT about programing. Here is my offer: If you know how to program D-mods, which im sure isnt too complicated, but it is for ME haha! Anyways, if you do, please add me on MSN or talk to me on here, and we can create one together. I am a great writer and would love to work with one of the great D-mod authors on this site like Striker or Redink1 (although Im probably not going to get to work with them haha). Well...I suck at programing, but we could do one together. I do the map, you do the story and scripting. When I was mapping DatB, I did one heck of a job on it. So I would be best in mapping the D-Mod. Since your the 'writer' you do the script. Or, if someone else were interested, we could work on it together and I still do the map...

One of the great things of actually making a DMOD is seeing your own idea of a DMOD come to life. I doubt whether anyone would like to have someone else make the story for them, let alone someone of who they don't even know how good at storytelling he actually is.

But chances are very real that a D-Mod author doesn't feel like making a D-Mod without thinking of the story him-/herself; isn't that the whole idea of a D-Mod, having the ability to make your own RPG game? I thought Seth said something like that in the Readme (or some other .txt file)

how about ya just post a story in the stories section and see if anyone wants to use it? that way they can see if they like your material, instead of just taking your word that you are a good writer. Seeing is believing.

Seriously, if you can write a story which is sufficiently detailed, and Dink Killer can create a map for it which doesn't suck, I can script it.

So I could work on one with you too then Milo? I'd really like to actually do my Dink and the Bonca series and eventually complete it. But my ideas are to complicated for me to handle right now.

So I'm eventually gonna work with Rp and Milo. Cool! Hopefully I'll have time over the summer to start mapping.

Well "The One Who Spilled ReDink's Drink in His Lap", I believe it that you could do very well with the map. I think making the map is the funnest part of development, because it is like you are actually moulding an interactive world. It really annoys me when I see maps with incongruent tiles, because it is really not that hard to fix.

I highly doubt he was insulting you, or is your IQ too low to understand he was critisizing the idea's fundamental flaws rather than your apparant skill, which is yes, yet to be seen. Regardless of whether you class yourself as 'quite the established writer' or not. Stop being so defensive. As for being 'totally off topic' it was as much on-topic as your reply to his post was.

What you fail to understand is that the rules of grammar do not necessarily apply to something as inane as an internet alias, and that it was his original intent and desire to leave the initial character in the name lowercased. So, "redink1".

Actually Rp, we were going to do my D-Mod idea, so I guess I'd be the writer. So I guess we don't need you Rp. I'd map and do the storyline, and Milo could script it all for me.

About one year ago, I was mapping my D-Mod, Dink and the Bonca. Soon, with a new computer, my stuff was lost. Today, I am going to finish that D-Mod with the help of Milobones. My D-Mod will rise again! And by the looks of it, Milo is a good choice for the scripter, with 2 successful D-Mods that are over 7.0. So it should be reasonably ok, at least a 6.0

Hmmm... Rp64, I didnt know anything about scripting either, but I downloaded rudiment of scrpitings (hmm how to spell that ) and some other tutorials, and when I was (am) totally stuck I just ask this friendly page.
I think its more fun to make a whole d-mod by yourself, then you can be proud when you release it and nobody have seen it before (to bad I havent felt that yet, because my d-mod was destroyed, doh!)

I can trust about 60% of the people here. But if I ever feel like looking over rudiments of scripting, then I may just do it all myself.

I'm jealous of the staff. They get different sized font, colored font, and scrolling font. I wish I were a staff member.

There was one time where everyone had that stuff. Then the board broke.

I can understand how people would abuse the fonts though. Maybe in a few years, I will become a staff member. Then I can be even lazier than I am now.

And it was the scrolling marque that broke the board. Colour, no ones really cares, and size, well, we had six sizes, h1 - h6 I believe, but most people didn't use them, and those that did, used them properly, and in the correct situations. (aka, once a month or less)

Well, a few years of 'hard' work here and it may be possible for me to become a staff member. But I like my gold star. Purple is kinda...stupid.

Creating your own website and becoming staff of your own website will probably be a quicker way. (even if it takes years to create)

Well, I wouldn't count on you becoming staff any time in the foreseeable future... if nothing else, this site only really needs one or two people, and we've got seven to rely on. So there probably won't be openings soon.
