I know the name doesn't sound prommising but I wanted to make something simple first but that grew into something much bigger.

I think so because I'm going to need some help with things in the comming days. There is something already where I'll need help with. I want to make several types of food that heal you a bit, but the dificult thing is that I want to make random food combinations. That means that if you eat food in a correct order you'll get healed completly. Do you think it's possible and a good idea? Or is it too unrealalistic?

The big thing is how you are going to track what Dink has eaten already? If you make a script where Dink goes on a eating session (aka meal) then it's quite easy to do (check the fruitmixer in Friends Beyond 3). If you're going to make it like Dink eats a bread now and a saucage three screens later it's more difficult...

It could be a good idea, but maybe the randomness isn't good, I don't know how you want to implement it.

Well if I don't make it random the player will know the combination(s) after some time and then it would be too easy because you could heal yourself completly every time.

Any fool can use a computer. Many do. 
But if it's random, there would be no correct order to eat the food as any order would be just as random? Or do you mean the correct order is set from time to time but is then changed into a new random combination?

I think I'll just forget the whole eating food in an order thing and make some alchemy combinations. I'll put in many ingrediƫnts and something like a mortar and petsel to make potions like restore health, mana (to make your magic ready at once), teporary increase attack, defence, magic, life, speed. If anyone has a good idea how to do this or has something to add please tell me.

I'm getting realy exited about releasing this game it's starting to look good. I've nearly completed the alchemy thing and I think it's pretty good. I'm also making some new graphics: Bonca magic (finishing the ones from the original game) and new dink magic graphics for acid rain (A star instead of a fireball on dinks hand). I'll post a few more screenshots in a few minutes.

I like the Acid Rain magic, but maybe the fourth frame could have the star moving away from Dink, rather than being a little star in his hand again? I don't know... just a suggestion.

I think I'm going to make some effect of alcohol in Dink Goes Hunting. Like you can buy beer, wine, liquor and whisky in the pub. The more alcohol Dink has drunk the more effects will show up like attack goes up defence down magic down. When you drink enough your stats will be effected over time and will go back to normal over time and also when you drink your health will be restored. Now is my question does someone have an idiea of how the stats have to change. Some more ideas are also more then welcome. I can make it myself but I don't think I have enough experience jet with alcohol to know all the effects.

Oh I forgot to say that I ment that the demo will be released in 1 or 2 (or longer ) weeks. And the demo is just the begining of the entire game this slow progress is probably because of my lack of experience but I'm getting better and better.

Well, you can check the scripts from cloud castle 1, to see how the berseker potion work. The problem is that you can't save the game during a potion effect, because then, after reloading, the effect would become permanent.
An ideea would be to use a global variable, that should remember how many seconds must pass until your stats are reset to normal(and probably some other globals that remember the old stats). For several drinks, you'll need several variables. Then, each screen shold contain an invisible sprite, that decreases the counters, if they are higher than 0, and reset your stats when they reach 0.
If you won't find a better ideea, I can help you with the scripts.

I left the other parts of the scrips out. I know how to make it and this works fine but if what you say is true then why wont it happnen in CC & CC2 altough I haven't tried that out but that would be a big bug. And that would also mean that my potion scrips wouldn't work!

If you encounter any bugs while playing or if you have any ideas on how to do things better then please tell me. I will update the demo someday to add another side quest that hasn't been finished in the demo and to fix some things if necessary. Also there might still be some spelling mistakes left but they will of course be fixed when I update the game.
