well, merry christmas anyway!
It's the 22th here too but it's better to be a few days early than a few days later
Merry Christmas all!

Merry Christmas all!
Still a couple of days left for me, But merry christmas to all

It's the 23rd here, so Christmas is the day after tomorrow!
And why is there a uproar whole thing about saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas? I mean, Jesus Christ...
And why is there a uproar whole thing about saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas? I mean, Jesus Christ...
Because saying Merry Christmas is so horribly racist, someone might flip out and beat you senseless with ham.
Happy Saturnalia everyone!
Happy Saturnalia everyone!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings.

Merry Christmas too all, eh?
Hey dude. I graduated college, and am now employed full-time at an aerospace company doing C++ stuff.
What're you up to?
What're you up to?
Merry Christmas, all.
My life's been slow and painful lately. I started having abdominal pains and bowel trouble in May, and that's carried on for a few months. I finally got a big break of sorts in late October when I found out that my problem is celiac disease. Gotta change my diet permanently. Can't have breads, pastas, lots of other foods... recovery's been slow... but I'm carrying on well enough.
I'm about finished with my senior year of high school. I need to apply to some colleges, but have little to no desire to do so.
I can't think of anything else noteworthy.

I'm going the dukie way, but nothin' special lol
Congrats on college Dan, a degree is a great thing to have under your belt. Why am I not surprised to see you working with something you love? It sounds great, and with an aerospace company... I hope your happy with it and doing well. Have you moved away because of the job, or are you living at home?
Tal - Isn't that a glutton thing? Hopefully the worst is behind you. I'm happy you plan on looking at colleges, your a smart guy who will do well, but get those applications out soon. Any chance of looking at schools in the Boston area? I'd be happy to show you around and give you a place to stay if you come here to look.
Me? I just got my Law degree and am employeed in Boston. It's something that took everything I had. I don't consider myself a great student... I get distracted by so many things, yet I managed to get by. I'm hoping to get something closer to where my family lives or say screw it and move to New York. I spent 3 days in NYC last week and it was awesome. I love the constant movement of the city - it suits me. Walking the streets at 11:30 at night and they are just as crowded as they were at 2 in the afternoon. Where I grew up, they rolled the streets up at 8 PM. Its only in the thought process right now.
Honestly though, college did not suit me, I don't like to study, I don't like tests, and I hate papers. So having it all behind me makes me very happy. I will be getting married in June which is also good - I hate the dating thing. We actually did things a little backwards though as we had our first child in February. That didn't make many people very happy at the time, but everyone seems happy to have a grandchild. My little brothers are uncles. If there were a way to post pictures on the board, I would post a picture of my little girl.
I've jabbered enough. Get better Tal...

"Gluten" rather than "glutton," but yeah, at least you seem to recognize what I'm talking about
Truthfully speaking, I'd rather not go to college at all, but I can't fight this aggravating feeling that, for some reason, I need to go. It could have something to do with the fact that noone will leave me the hell alone about it. Making a decision this major couldn't have come at a worse time in my life, really - disease has done a number on me and I have no desire to do much of anything, let alone research what colleges may pertain to my interests, fill out applications, etc. I'm not really sure where I'm headed with life - I just hope I'm content in the long run.

Whoa, congratulations
To get a picture on the board, you could upload it to http://imageshack.us/ and then create a link to it.
Oh, and I did move out on my own, but I'm only about 45-60 minutes away from my parent's house.

you could post your picture on the dinksquad page, there's a link to the left, and if you haven't posted a picture of yourself yet, you should go ahead and do that too...

Merry Christmas to one and all!
Yes, get better, Tal! My paternal grandmother showed such symptoms when celiac disease was still unheard of...and considered ourselves purely Asians. She figured it out though (without the doctors)and changed her diet...must've been quite a sacrifice because we are rice and corn-eaters - our staple. She was in her 80s when she decided to graduate to heaven.
You have a long way to go before you kick the bucket. Go to college for the heck of it!

Her hair is red, I'm told it will grow, but I'm seeing little results

Merry christmas to all of you and a verry happy new year with lots of D-Mods to come!

Merry christmas everyone!!

With hair as red as the flames of Hades, I have no doubt that this is the daughter of Pure Evil.
Here in New Zealand Christmas is the 25th, which is tommorrow here (we're the first to see the sun).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all (though I usually like to reverse it and say Happy Christmas and Merry New Year).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all (though I usually like to reverse it and say Happy Christmas and Merry New Year).
No it's not. If you celebrate Christmas in your culture, it's just habit to say "Merry Christmas", not racist. Racism is a deleberate intent to offend or remove rights/privalleges from a certain race. A habit has no deliberate intent to do that, so is not racist.
Celiac disease. Ouch! One of my best friends have that, so I know a bit about it and how limiting it can be. By the way, did you know there are special gluten-free breads amd stuff (they use corn or rice flour instead), though they are expensive. Oh, and in case you didn't know: they put wheat flour in sausages, so u can't eat sausages either, but I assume they gave you a list of what you can't eat (they did to my mate). I'd also advise looking at the ingredients part of the labels for food really carefully, because you'd be surprised with some of the things they put wheat flour or even pure gluten in.
By the way? Do you know what they actually use gluten for? As a binding agent. The alternatives like corn flour (the most common one) don't bind very well well. There is one that binds as well as gluten, but it's very expensive.
So since I know what it's like for my mate, I feel sorry for you.

Do you work for NASA?
Anyway, congrats, redink1.

Some of the gluten-free bread tastes horrible. I tried rye bread which was still Ok, but some other bread (can't remember it's name) tasted awful.
Oh, and you don't have to feel sorry for me, I stopped my gluten-free diet when it didn't work out.

Whether I like it or not I'm going to adhere to my gluten-free diet... it's torturous, but my knowledge is expanding bit by bit and I'm often surprised by what I can have.
Rice bread is absolutely awful, and pizza made with rice-based crust isn't that great either. I've found some cookies I'm rather fond of though, and corn-based spaghetti noodles are almost like the real thing.

Hi Tim,
Good to see you drop by.
Non-dink wise... I'm still doing the same job I was over a year ago (2 US films that were shot up in Queensland in 2004, and have not finished).
Just sold and bought a house - now I live in the 'burbs, with 4 bedrooms, study, family room, pool and close to a great national park. So I've got happy kids and a happy wife (and a happy bank manager with a nice big mortgage for me to pay off).
Let's see, what else... been meaning to try and improve my drawing skills, but after buying a few books on amazon I've lost interest (I blame work and a house move) - must get back to it these holidays. Going down to Canberra for a week (family Christmas with a sister, chance to visit the nation's capital...)
Congrats on your first child and your upcoming marriage. Good luck with you proposed move to NYC and a new job (if that is part of the move).
Have a Merry and Great Christmas everyone!
(Necromancer is still months away...)

Merry almost Christmas and stuff.
What about temporary custom smileys, like, with santa hats on them or something?

Well, here in NZ the gluten-free stuff doesn't taste so bad. Though we mainly use corn based stuff rather than rice based.
So this means you didn't get the part that wasn't meant seriously? Like... the whole first sentence?
Edit. To delete an obvious time/date error.

So what part of Sweden are you from? My Family name is Malm, but you would have to be swedish to know why.
God Jul!
Jag talar inte svenska.

Sorry, I'd just got out of bed so was still a little slow of thought.
Go, you'll be glad you did.
I left College after first year, because we had a baby. It was very difficult to attend school all day, work all night, and still be useful with raising our first child.
She is now 11, has 9 & 8 year old brothers, and a 4 year old sister. I have gone back to complete my Computer Science/Accounting program.
Imagine trying to learn learn sub-netting while trying to remember how to describe a number-line to an 8 year old boy, Dating Dos to a 9 year old boy, dating don'ts to an 11 year old girl, and the 4 year old is chanting camp songs like "Bessie Bessie Give, the Babies gotta live".
Kids are Awesome, when the time is right. Get your education now, so you can spend the time with your kids homework instead of your own.
My 2p,
mm.

Shoot happens. Just getting out of bed can cause things like that

Hey Simon -
Good to hear from you, hope life is treating you fairly, and that you enjoy the 'burbs. I'm sure your kids have more room to play inside and out. Let me know the title of those movies, I remember enjoying Charlotte Gray, I like all WWII movies. And now your drawing? Your a renaissance man Simon. Happy Holidays...

Surely most euro-dinkers are havng dinner right now or something!
Merry Chrismas all!!
This year has been a good year for me.
I wrote a novel, finished my dmod, and completed my first year of university without getting thrown out. I moved out of home and survived. I have lots of money. Yay for me!
I also got a boyfriend and then lost him. Oh well.
Eat lots, drink lots, and party hard!

It's 25th now, so I think it's time for me to say 'merry Christmas', so here it goes:
Merry Christmas everybody!
Merry Christmas everybody!
"Eat lots, drink lots, and party hard!"
Aye
Merry Christmas
Aye
Merry Christmas

Sorry, I haven't responded... I've just been too busy lately.
Long story short, I moved out of parents and became a free-wheeling vagabond (I've moved at least 10 times in the past 2 years, occationally holding odd jobs and living out of my car). Thankfully, I don't travel alone, as I have a wonderful (if sickly, but steadily growing healthier) girl with me at all times (aside from the time we were forced to seperate, which I will not let happen again). We just recently found what looks to be a good source of money and are now looking for a decent place in Toronto so that we can fix some her unhealthy teeth and get her more treatments for her nearly debilitating allergies.
I've been trying to learn the fiddle and to start up an Indie computer game of my own creation (I just still lack motivation). It's been a hell of a ride that I'm glad that I held on to, even during the most painful moments.
