I know there have been countless topics about the DOTM awards and such, but I have a suggestion that I don't think was suggested before. I suggest, that the staff should pick a few people (maybe even the staff themselves) to be the 'Awards Team'. These guys will have the ability to start the new contests each month, and put the trophies next to the D-Mods in the files list. I know, some of you might think this is stupid, but I think it's a good idea.

So, what do you say?

The biggest problem is the erratic release of d-mods. There are periods where nothing is released for months, rendering the DOTM fairly pointless. The yearly awards still work well, but the lack of content being released rather defeats the point of any monthly award.

As for the 'true' contests (Alternative Hero, Evil Hero, Failure D-mod etc), these have proven successful due to their rare nature. I don't think doing them more frequently is a good idea.

Agreed. The DOTM is no longer viable, unfortunately. There have been a few releases this month, due in part to some of them being backlogged , but there are many months in recent years that have given us nothing.

The DOTY is still viable, of course, but I don't even remember when that was last done.

So, are DOTY still going to be awarded?

Time and ambition will tell...

What about D-Mods who were entries in other contest? Are they still eligible for DOTY awards and such?

Everything released in a given year is eligible for that DOTY.

And is the DOTY an actual real-life award, or is it just a small trophy image next to your D-Mod?

Eh, it can vary I think. You might get a the coding book or a t-shirt.

I have to confess being quite shocked to have seen Tal's facebook photos for the first time.. I mean I remembered the photos on dink squad, and then he'd turned into a grown-up overnight.

So many dinkers, so much looks given to them... we make the rest of the world jealous. I wonder if the squad will ever update again?

Yeah, I look a bit different from my Dink Squad pictures now, but I rarely have photos taken of me, and those that I like enough to show are scarce. And yes, you do look way different, MM.

I should take over Dinksquad, after all Phoenix has yelled at me a lot, so I know how to make decent websites now. I'm also a part of DinkSquad's very select group
