The Dink Network

Hey guys is there any way we can add some new features to This Network.. i mean something like allowing to use personal messages.. and i face some probs when trying to chat ...
so it would be great if you could certainly correct that.

Private messages are possible. Simply make a new topic, and then select "Private Messages" as the category. Now you can type stuff there, and address it to a particular person, or to multiple people.

I have sent you a private message as a demonstration.

The chat link on top of the page? It's an IRC channel, but it dies every time we try to revive it. It just doesn't work for this community, I guess.

You could have scheduled IRC meetings I suppose. Wasn't there something like that in the past?

Yeah... but they weren't great. That might have something to do with the staff involved (such as myself), but they never really took off.

They were pretty decent back in the day... and by back in the day, I'm talking about around 2002-2003.

Nonsense. Back in the good old days (Yeah, yeah, old cliché...) there were some really good chats around. We even got Seth himself to appear on several occasions, and we had as many as... I think 16 people in the channel at the same time.

I try to stay in there a lot, but nobody ever drops by, so it doesn't do much good. I'm not ALWAYS in there, though. Gotta sleep, go to school and work too.

Hmm, I guess you remember them differently. I remember there being the odd good chat with a lot of people... but most weren't that interesting.

But anyway, the chat has completely died in recent years.

Eh, sure, there were some slow, dull chats, but it usually was an interesting rabble if there were 4 or more people there.

The inbox thingy doesn't work anymore. Private messages appear in the forums with the other posts. They have a white envelope in front of them (instead of a Dink logo, bananas, or whatever).

The link at the start of my post goes to the "Private Message forum". This is the new new "inbox".
