My laptop, which I use for basically everything:

CPU: 1600Mhz AMD Sempron, able to switch to a power saving 800 Mhz
RAM: 894 MB DDR, probably 1024 but some reserved for my video "card".
Video card: ATI Express 1100 chipset
Hard Disk: 80 GB internal partitioned into 2 20 GB and one 40 GB piece (approximately). Plus an external one.
Screen resolution: widescreen 1280x800 (max and standard), can handle all standard 4:3 and 3:2 resolutions.
Atheros something-G wireless network card, capable of connecting to 54 Mbit networks.

Extras: built-in VGA and S-Video ports for connecting to beamers, televisions, stuff like that.
Small Firewire port.
3 USB ports.
Internal SD card reader.
Some thingy where I can leave a remote control or special laptop hardware.

You named two specifications. Which of the two is of your laptop?
"High level power source" means nothing. You probably mean "it's not just any cheap power source", like they delivered with my old desktop which ceased to function pretty quickly.

A high level power source is a special power source that you can buy for some laptops. It allows more power to get to the CPU allowing it to run better, etc...
Also can increase RAM somehow...

Here are my specs. Recently upgraded my Motherboard and CPU, and they're awesome!! Oh, by the way, having two monitors is soooo cool.

Hard Drive: 80GB
RAM: 448MB (Precisely! )

Seeing how 512 - 64 = 448, it sounds to me like you have a memory thief in your computer. Probably your on-board graphics card.

Daniel, there are clowns.
You do realize that it's also possible to reach 448 with 256+128+64.

Yeah, now I do. Hehe. Well, both are quite possible. Let's wait until he tells us what the actual situation is before we draw any final conclusions.

That being said, for such a modern computer, that kind of combination seems odd to me. Do they even make 64 MB memory sticks for main boards running a 3 GHz processor?

Athlon 64x2 dual core 4600+ 2.41ghz
1 gig of ram
550w PSU
80g maxtor HDD
soundblaster audigy2 ZS
some generic wifi card
Geforce 6200 LE (SUCKS!)
and a crapton of L.E.D.s and cold cathodes.

some time soon getting a pair of graphics cards hopefully

More power to the CPU makes the CPU overheat and blow up much more quickly. Also, that's not possible, you can only make the CPU work faster if you overclock it, which is something you don't do by giving it more power.

RAM speed can be overclocked too, but also not through more energy, that'd just be more dangerous.

I think you've been had, or fell for some cheap salesman's trick here.

I don't think I have an on-board graphics card. I bought mine a few years ago. Surprisingly, it fitted in every motherboard I've had over the years. I've really grown attached to it.

"That being said, for such a modern computer, that kind of combination seems odd to me. Do they even make 64 MB memory sticks for main boards running a 3 GHz processor?"

I bought my card a few years ago. It's old. ATI Radeon 7000 series. Yes, I agree, it does seem odd. I never expected the card to work, but it did. So I rejoice.

Unbeliavable... I finally see proof that someone _actually_ reads these specs threads :/ I thought it was just an opportunity for people to post and boast without anyone paying any attention. Apparently, someone does. I'm rather amazed.

Oh yeah, and I have a laptop. It's black. And kinda silverish on the other side. About 35x27x5 (cm).
