New D-Mod: Solstice
Hot on the heels of his last two d-mods, relative newcomer brassweasel, releases another short romp, this time called, Solstice.
I also just wanted to say that either brassweasel has access to my private midi stash that stretches back to at least 2002... or he just has really good taste. ...or, most likely, these were part of the midi compilation I uploaded ages ago when we were doing that sort of thing
A DMOD filled with unreasonable people and unbeatable humour. I love it!
It won't work for me; it says a tileset is missing. I tried re-installing to no avail. I'll try to get it to work later. It looks cool, though.
Ah, that'd be it. Thanks! I think I'll review this once I play it.

They were the best of times, they were the worst of times.

brassweasel, why do you keep making dmods that require freedink!?
Are you using GIMP to save the graphics, maybe? I remember a problem like that a while ago, and the same fix worked here - I just opened the tilemaps in MSPaint and saved them again, voilĂ . The title screen doesn't work quite right in v108 either, but oh well, that's a much lesser issue. As far as I'm concerned, everyone should move over to using Freedink, anyway. Especially Skorn. I had to use regular v108 to test this problem on Windows 7, and by duckballs, what a horrifying laggy, flashy, stretchy mess it was.
In any case, this is a very nice dmod.

That is a truly awful idea.

Why?
Btw: very cool DMod! Very funny and slightly unsettling, with a brilliant ending.

Freedink's missing a lot of stuff, ducks up Dink if you launched it and try to launch non-freedink unless you run the main game first and one time, dfarc didn't work at all because of it until I ran the main game from outside dfarc.
Freedink is a disaster and dmods should never be developed for it.

Yes, that was an excellent midi pack.
BTW: I loved BFTG. Too bad you never finished it. It could've been the best DMOD on the network!

Yes. I always you GIMP. That could explain things. Thanks for the information.
Also, I'm glad you enjoyed the DMOD.

Freedink's missing a lot of stuff
Only some sounds; if you install the original data files on top of it (although I wouldn't replace the scripts; there are fixes in freedink that aren't in 1.08), you don't miss anything.
ducks up Dink if you launched it and try to launch non-freedink
I'm not sure what you're talking about, but whatever it is, 1.08 is full of bugs and they are likely the cause of your problems. You're basically saying "1.08 is so incredibly fragile that doing completely normal things with unrelated programs will make it break" and then you conclude that those unrelated programs are at fault.
Freedink is a disaster and dmods should never be developed for it.
Freedink tries to be compatible with 1.08 (and 1.07, in case anyone still cares) in order to make sure that nobody does that. It's not actually possible to develop "for Freedink". But you can develop using Freedink, as Brassweasel does (and I do, as well, but he's making many more DMods than I am) and if you happen to use anything that is broken in 1.08 (and there are lots of things that are), you won't notice and it will only work on Freedink. That is not in any way Freedink's fault.

I've not created a google maps of this mod, but this is my preliminary attempt:

Working on improving this and creating a walkthru.

Why is Greenland under the map? Also why have the Dink logo be the empty space instead of blackness to make it easier to look at?
Wait, Goodheart is in Greenland?
THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING. no it doesn't.
EDIT: After looking at this for more than 2 seconds, I can see this is not the original game's map. Shun me.

@Dackfight: The map is currently overlaid onto google's street map, so if you zoom in far enough, you'll see the underlying street map. I am working to fix this.
@Dackfight: Replacing the dink logo with a black square is a good idea, and I will do that as well.
@Skurn: The map isn't perfect, but I brought up freedinkedit and the main portion of my map and freedinkedit's solstice map appear to be quite similar.
This is just a preliminary attempt, I'm working to improve it.

So if Goodheart isn't in Greenland, then where is it?
Slightly less sucky second attempt:

Thanks! And just to take all the fun out of it, locations of two of the game's "collect n items" quests (spoilers):
