Yeah, I think it's about time I left. At least for a while. I'm the reason Skorn is flaming right now. He's trying to ruin the place, because he hates me. It has nothing to do with you guys or the Network itself. It's as I have said many times here before, a stupid rivalry he has to keep going on with me. It's become obvious. If he isn't spamming some insanity like "AAAAH" then he's flaming me in his posts. In fact, 90% of his latests posts that make even a tiny bit of sense mention me by name. Forget about his explanations of a girlfriend. A she dog like him could never have a girlfriend, and even if he did, that's still not the true reason he's spamming. And even though he's been hating me for God knows how long, he actually kept his rvialry at a rational state for a long time. HH2 was the turning point. The game made me finally to be accepted into this community, and he knew he lost his own rivalry, and now he's taking a revenge by spamming. Not only does he direct the flaming/spamming at me here, but he also has done this on Skype. Sadly, he doesn't know that cause I live in Finland, it would be very easy for me to get him in prison for Internet harrasment and invasion of privacy on all of us, and for defamation on me. But I'm not gonna do that to a 16-year-old kid. I'm not that evil.

So yeah, I just wanted everyone to know that. This is not all because of Skorn. I also have other things which may reduce my visits here, but I think I'd better get off of here for a while, cause everything Skorn's doing here, is because he wants me to see The Dink Network destroyed. He probably won't quit even though I leave, but if any luck is involved, he'll at least become somewhat rationale again cause his major reason to flame is gone. Of course he has other reasons too cause he's mentally unstable but that's another story.

Ok, I've ranted long enough.

That's too bad. It sucks to lose someone even when barely anyone visits, especially a dude who's been around so long. Hope you return when the spam dies down a little.

Well, I hope you're not gone too long. I was surprised when I read your post, because I didn't notice all that stuff going on with the deleted posts turned off. I never realized how great that feature was until recently.

Hey man, don't leave! I've noticed Skorn harbours some unhealthy dink envy for you, but I don't think your leaving would help. You're one of the most active people around, and that does a lot to keep the place alive despite folks like Abs and ThePunisher.

Deleting Skorn's stuff is quick and simple, and while annoying to do day after day, it's nowhere near enough for either me or Sparrowhawk to give up. We're also looking into more effective ways to deal with the problem, so while things are pretty shootty right now, Skorn's spamfest might actually be a good thing in the end. (In the sense that it forces us to do something about it, which will set a precedent for how to deal with other naughty children in the future)

To be fair, Punisher, you've gotten a lot better. You also had some major points and your own point of view in your arguments. And even though people don't always see eye to eye with you, and you sometimes flame people, it's still... I don't know how to say it... more tolerable and understandable than Skorn's childish behaviour. I feel your posts had some sort of a meaning and you really did believe in things you said, whereas Skorn is just out there for himself. But don't blame Scratcher for abusing his power (even if he sometimes does a little bit). He's practically doing, what, five people's job by himself.

Thanks Scratcher. Your post makes me feel a bit better, knowing that you aren't that bothered looking after this site. Still, I can't help but feel a bit guilty cause I know you have to deal with crap technically because of me.

It's easy to claim to be unbannable while no one can ban you. =)

In truth, it's a relatively simple matter to get rid of someone; you just keep banning every IP they connect from. The classic troll response is that then they'll just use proxies! but it's usually too much effort for any single person to keep up.

PS. If you learned magical forum rollback powers, though, you could probably do a pretty good job of crippling the site!

Skorn, a typical day for me is going on this site, seeing your stupidity, going on the site I moderate, see another idiot who acts like you, only dumber.
With him, I ban him, and he comes back via proxy, so I ban him again, and it's a recurring cycle that gets really annoying.
Every so often, he runs out of Proxies, as they have to replenish their overall IP addresses, which makes it very unfair for the members in China who rely on proxies to bypass their government bullshoot.

Trolling is not an art, it's just something that immature idiots like to do because they want to feel like they're changing something, even though they're only being a minor annoyance at best.
I have yet to meet someone who has turned trolling into an art form, and you're no closer than the idiot I deal with.

A site with a dead-beat king. What motivation would the users have to keep trying to update the content in this place, and make it better, when it has a king who doesn't even care for it.

The real mistake Redink made is that he didn't look at the current situation of the site when he left. Tal was already "planning" to leave, if you will, when Redink made him the King. Dan and Tal were just teenagers when they made the deal of Tal becoming the next King, and who knows, maybe Tal would have done a good job back then. Dan decided to keep the agreement, even though eight or nine years passed. It might also interest you people that Tal still doesn't have as much power over the site as Redink, even if he is named the King.

Everything an admin should have.

All he is is a regular staffer with a red star.

For starters, Redink cared about the site, Tal doesn't. Redink knows all of the codes for the site, it's probable that Tal doesn't. The site could also be on a localized server that doesn't allow anyone from a different IP to access it without hacking.

It's not as simple as that, Dack. The owner of a site has complete and total control over a site, and thus has to work hard at maintaining the level of quality of the site through updates and staff management.
The staff have to be competent people who won't let their newfound power go to their head, and usually they will have to be trained in the job.

Each site has different codes, and each code can be easier or harder to work with.

Tal may not care for this site anymore. He did care about it back in the day, but you can't blame a person for growing out of something. That's completely normal. None of us will be here forever, and the day when this site ends will come sooner or later (hopefully later). However, you *can* blame Tal for completely abandoning the site without giving power to other people first (actually, I don't think he has that power but he could've asked Dan). That's when the real assholish thing was committed, and that's why I've lost nearly all respect for him. Just because he doesn't care about this site anymore doesn't mean others don't. He was very stupid and selfish.
