New Contest: Silent Protagonist
Posted by redink1 on Monday October 6th, at 06:29 PM
Are you interested in making your own D-Mod? Have you made a few half-finished D-Mods, but never found the motivation to finish one? Do you only make D-Mods when a contest gives you a structure and a deadline? Well, then here's something for you!

Yes, we are holding another contest. This time the contest will be about a Silent Protagonist. This is a fairly common trope in video games, from Zelda to Half-Life and Portal. It isn't very common in D-Mods, which makes it a bit of an interesting challenge.

See the comments for details.

Updated Files: Cocomonkey and Leprochaun's D-Mods
Posted by CocoMonkey on Friday October 10th, at 05:45 PM
Leprochaun and I have each recently updated two of our respective D-Mods.

Leprochaun's recent Epochs & Aeons: Part One has been updated to fix several bugs, most notably the unintended ability to skip a fetch quest. He has also updated Moon Child to fix some issues introduced in the previous update. He also added some sprites and a script out of boredom.

Meanwhile, I have updated Malachi the Jerk. Thanks to an email I received, I was finally able to update this D-Mod to make it compatible with Dink Smallwood HD. I used the same information to fix Dink Smallwood: Achievement Unlocked Edition to be compatible with Dink HD as well. While I was at it, I also added some insanely hidden bonus content that no one will ever see.

New D-Mod: The Woods
Posted by redink1 on Friday October 10th, at 08:24 PM
The D-Mod dabbler Endy released a new D-Mod titled The Woods. I think this is probably the first D-Mod based on a french play (at least I can't think of any others). It's experimental horror, and is suitably... freaky.

Beuc, that tireless pioneer trying to make Dink accessible to the entire world, has updated DFArc 3.

The main feature this time is the ability to run the game and the editor at the same time, however there is also improved performance, six new languages and some other fixes.

Of course, the source code is also available should you want some bedtime reading.

Hot on the heels of the last DFArc 3 update comes a new version of Beuc's FreeDink project.

This version is apparently not yet better than sliced bread, but it's getting close! Better than sliced buns, I guess.

There are some fixes and two new translations for the engine strings. Did you know, this is now translated into 22 different languages!

And speaking of foreign languages, here's the source code.
