The Dink Network

I was just wondering how long it takes before you offically say a Dinker is off this network. I haven't been on in months so I thought you guys might think that i was gone.

I don't really know you, but I have noticed u have been gone for a while.

I'd say they're officially off when they announce their own death.

Has anyone actually done that? Said that they themselves are dead?

Sort of... but it was along ago, and isn't worth getting into.

Most people usually tend to not notice until several months after a major dinker has been missing for a while.
And I do realize the semi-irony of my posting this after being fairly inactive for several months.

I'm not dead. I'm lazy. One of my secretaries is typing this. The other one is sucking my

chocolate milkshake out of this really cool alien straw I picked up for a dollar the other day, it's green and glows in the dark. Too cool.

Dammit Tal, you allow your milkshake to be drunk by someone else? Even if the straw's cool?!

About the topic: I'm still here, though I have been less active the past few weeks.

I think drakraven41 announced his death once.

As for the topic, announcing that you're gone might be the nicest way to go. People usually are kind and say things like "bye, we'll miss you". Everyone will be happy.

People who say they're leaving never seem to leave though.

Me, if I ever leave, I'll propably just leave and secretly check back every now and then to see if anyone noticed. ;P

Yeah, I'd probably do that do.

I probably won't leave until the network is dead, in which case there'd be no point in announcing my death.

But as I said, I'm undead so I can't die in the normal sense, only in the sense an undead dies. I say I'm undead cos I died several times (each time I lost internet connection for a few months and didn't appear for a while). But that wasn't enough to stop me from returning. each time I come back from the grave (as a lich). So that makes me the undead.

I don't think you can say: "I'll stay here for ever", or "I'll stay here untill the network is dead". You just can't forsee what's going to happen in the future.

Well, I'm going to stay here, until something unexpected will happen. So don't expect to get rid of me soon.
