A similar thread was posted about two or three months ago, but this can't hurt.

I'll rip the following straight from your post: Metallica, Tool, Radiohead, Nirvana, Queen, Guns n' Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ozzy Osbourne, System of a Down, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Audioslave. I haven't heard much from the rest of the bands listed, so I won't form a concrete opinion on them. (And I cannot believe that you excluded AC/DC... man.. )

Here are the rest of mine, which differ quite a bit from the theme you initiated. In no particular order: Beastie Boys, The Donnas, Frank Sinatra, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Ben Folds, Devo, Queens of the Stone Age, Smashing Pumpkins, The Clash, The Ramones, Sublime, Slash's Snakepit, Weezer, and Smash Mouth (before their disappointing third album).

This is by no means a complete list of the bands I like. I'm quite forgetful, and I decided to exclude bands that I don't have very many songs from. Yes, I may seem like a mainstream junkie from what I've listed, but my tastes actually are fairly broad... I could care less about "punk rock vs. corporate garbage" labeling. I just take what I think is good.

Tupac isn't bad. Eminem is respectable, as a person, and in some ways as an artist. Pop is generally bad, but pop comes from the word popular, so Nirvana would go under that category. And I can't say that Nirvana was bad.

So here's my very concise list:

Nirvana, Phish, Dream Theatre, Tool, Radiohead, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Who, Velvet Underground, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Deep Purple, Guns 'n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, System of a Down, Queesn of the Stone Age, Zwan, Smashing Pumpkins, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Tom Petty, Janis Joplin, Terry Jacks, Judy Garland(Somewhere Over the Rainbow...SCORE! ), Tad, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Brahms, most classical pieces, THE BEATLES, A Perfect Circle, AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Bob marley, Chuck Berry, Neil Young, Bruce Hornsby, the Clash, DEAD KENNEDYS, some David Bowie, The Eagles(I'm seeing them in May, mofo), Evanescence, Frank Sinatra, the Stooges, Jane's Addiction, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meat Puppets, Metallica, some Michael Jackson, MMW, various jazz artists, Ween (download the HIV song), Santana, Eric Clapton, Blind Melon, Bright Eyes, Don McLean, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Soundgarden, REM, Peter Frampton, NIN, and yeah. Just to name a few that you SHOULD know of.

Anyways, that's my not-so-concise list. I listen to pretty much every category of music.

I listen to nearly anything. But I don't care for the bands or the artists very much, as long as the music is good, so I won't list any bands.

If people have over 20 "favorite" bands.....
Oh well, none of my business.
Metal rules, example bands being Darcane, Fozzy and CheviEye. Also like Celtic music (ERA, Adiemus) and that's pretty much it.

Aah, do any of you listen to real punk? No, christian not blink 182. I'm talking about Dropkick Murphys(irish punk!),NOFX, less than jake(ska), face-to-face, strung out , and even though they qualify as sellouts-green day. That pretty much with what you guys mentioned to excluding rap, Frank sinatra and all those sort of show tunes and old jazz types and including Primus, Prodigy, 311, Beck, and Sublime.

Oh please, don't give me that "real punk" stuff, nothing is "real punk", and everyone is a poser.

Anyways. My music tastes. No music sucks. People's opinions vary, so all music is good to one person or another. I don't like bands, I like songs. I hate it when people say "I don't like Good Charlotte because they are sellout" and stuff like that... get over it. Point being, I don't care who it's by, as long as I like the song.

So to know anything of my music tastes, I'd have to post all the songs I listen to, which would take up a lot of space... so I wont. Suffice to say I like a little of everything.

Well few of you ever listen to anything that is close to being considered punk that doesn't get mtv airplay. You're a poser when you think you're a hardcore punk and all you have ever heard is blink and green day. None of you have said that you were. None of you mentioned any cool punk like Dropkick Murphys, so I had to say something.

No, you're a poser if you think you're even vaguely punk, because punk doesn't exist.

Oh, and I didn't exclude the colon by accident. That's just how I type. Deal with it.

I listen to a bit of punk, and yes, I enjoy the Dropkick Murphys. My eldest sister gave me two or three CDs chock full of punk and death metal, some of which is decent. I think the fair majority of new punk sucks though... old punk is better.

I like different types of music except for country.

I'm surprised nobody on this board except for Eattherats ever heard of a band called Evanescence. I even asked my friends and they don't even know who they are, but in my opinion it's a good band. The lyrics for Evanescence is about exploring dark, introspective themes of love, desperation, and despair, but the message is a positive one.

Linkin Park is another good band too.

Let us save our effort and just lie down and die.
Not sure which is the lesser crime: necromancy or creating new needless threads, but since we have so many useless threads popping up, I decided to run with necromancy.

To explain: I found a lovely song which I would like to share with the masses. Here 'tis - enjoy.

It is my fave cover of "Nella Fantasia" based on "Gabriel's Oboe" from film "The Mission"

Well, if you're gonna bump a thread, it can't hurt much to bump a subject that would have had its turn again anyway, eventually.
