i use WinDinkEdit, and I really don't get the 'hardness' part of map editing.
I found out a way to copy and paste hardnes, drawing it is a bit stupid, cause the tile is magnified and you simultaneously edit every same tile. I just want to make a dang house and a man hard, how do I do that?

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
You could use invisible sprites with hardness and use them to add the hardness for the house; you can argue wether it should or shouldn't be used, but it works and generally you can do this without ever coming near the 99 sprite-limit. If you want to make a house hard, you could place invisible hard sprites near it. And one sprite can be made hard by setting its hardness to hard (like a man)

You really don't have to put forth a lot of effort to make most men hard.

In the vast majority of cases, you should never have to draw hardness. Drawing is for modifying the default hardness for that specific tile.

The proper way to use hardness for houses and the like is to press 'H' to go into Hardness-editing mode, and press 'E' to browse the available hard tiles. Then use page-up and page-down to browse, select one, and then select a tile on the screen and press 'S' to stamp it.

Yeah, but when will there be a new version? This one has been here like months, if not more!

Anyway, I have another problem;
I want to make a walking sprite, which i made in the editor, hard. But when I press hard, the sprite doesn't move, it just moves insanely in one place (flashes, turns around etc., it just doesn't walk around).

That's because it's "stuck" in the hardness, it can't move. That's why NPC characters should have their hardness set to 1, not to 0.

And how do I change the hardness from 0 to 1 in the editor?

I object
Hardness set to 1 simply means no hardness. Since you knew how to give a sprite hardness I'm going to assume you can also remove the hardness...

Right-click on the sprite, select properties, and un-check the 'hardness' checkbox.

Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
i use WinDinkEdit, and I really don't get the 'hardness' part of map editing.
MiloBones created a utility called Hardboxer, which you can use to create hardboxes around houses. By the other hand, I like to draw hardness myself. It's like completing a puzzle.
In WinDinkEdit, I have a problem with the hardness. If I want a certain one, I have to click the next one, for the right one to be shown. Do you have the same problem?

The Harboxer utility doesn't work...I followed the readme, copies hboxer.c and hardgarg.c to my story folder, made a sprite(seq 63) in WDE, pasted hboxer to it, but it doesn't work.
