Want to learn how to use Blender? (Free 3D program)
"Blender Class Room"
The Blender program has been used by a number of DMOD authors, including myself, to make graphics for DMODs.
Wesley, Eldron, Ric,
And probably a few I don't know.
It is a very powerful piece of software that can do some amazing things, but you do have to apply yourself to use it.
Anyway this site has 3 pdf files that a Blender user has written as a basic tutorial for a class he teaches. I've not viewed them as such, but I figured since there is a link on the main Blender site it must be pretty good. So if you want to find out about Blender or 3D in general, don't have $1000s of dollars, and don't like warez versions of maya, 3D-max etc give it a try...
EDIT: I've had a look at the first pdf - I like it... sever is slow for dial-up to load... but this looks good.

Nice one Simon. I briefly looked over this and I think I will try it out (maybe I will develop some artistic talent).
one of those that you aren't aware about is me. i started using this not too long ago and as a matter of fact, i printed off that whole document thursday night. that combined with the blender documentation at the blender site is pretty much enough to make you a skilled blender user. i just started this program recently, but i already feel fairly comfortable with it. i plan on using this to make graphics for my future dmods.
I also have Blender. It looks cool ect., but i donĀ“t know how to use . Well i think i learn someday .
Erm, so where can I download blender? And with what should I open pdf files:S
To get blender just go to
Blender Download Website
Another great Blender Community site is

That is a realy good one. It looks like it was written for versions 2.3+! (newer and better interface.)
So far most of the new graphics for Windemere are made with Blender. Human size charecters are 80 Pixles high (typicaly 100*100 xy window render size) to keep them compatible with dink graphics.
I'm sure there will be many .blend files shared here for people to make thier own charecters. Learning Blender is HARD, but there is plenty of help here For a sample I gave to Merlin a rendered image for Windemere wallpaper. If anyone wants it early to see what blender can do, just say so and I'll email it

That's okay, I'll put it up on the Windemere web site sometime today.
EDIT: It's up under the download section.

Thanx. BTW, I wanted to include the names of everyone on the Dink network, not just the Windemere project, but it looks like there are almost 400 names on the contributors list...
Anyhow, that is just a sample of what Blender can do in the hands of an amature (like me )
For those who havn't guessed, I Love Blender, and I'm amazed that something that good is free!
