The Dink Network

This past month there has been little board activity. Some good utilities have been released(spell checker and Redink's dialog program), or will be soon(easy dink c2), but not too many d-mods. Does any one see an end to this downward trend? Is there some reason people may be straying away from dink? Where did all the dinkers go? So many leaving Alli, purevil,ect.

Take note that both have left because of real life reasons, because of having things in real life that are meaningful (like PureEvil) or because that real life > computer life (like allikitten). But yeah, I see your point..

The same could be said a year ago in 2002... or 2001... or 2000... or 1999... or 1998. People always leave, and new people always arrive. Sometimes more people leave than arrive for a short time, and sometimes more people arrive than leave for a while. But really... I think me an Dukie are two of the only active Dinkers to stay since 1998. We lost Smokin_E, Mike Snyder, and innumerable other people that year. In fact, most people didn't think the Dink community would last for another year, I remember doing a poll.

So just wait, and things will start picking up again, probably.

I wouldn't call allikitten's reason for leaving a good one. <cough>. Ask Tal. He'll probably make a reference to "Black Mayonnaise". (inside joke)

people have been saying that Dink is dying for as long as I can remember..and thats a LONG time now. Just ignore the "false prophets"

Ask Tal wasn't going on for a while, so I wouldn't be surprised if he resurrected it sometime(probably not too soon).

I'm not positive, redink1, but I think I joined that year under another name but I was very very shy and never said anything nor stayed with it. I just visited for brief periods (maybe 15-20x that first year), and that certainly doesn't qualify for dead much less active. So it doesn't really count but the site was always interesting which kept drawing me back. You're right, people come, people go, but Dink keeps piling up them ducks.

I guess your right, it just kind of seemed that there wasn't much activity because ive been checking so often, practically waiting at my computer. Unlike PureEvil, I have no life, goals, or ambitions. At least i stirred some conversation
