The correct numbers should be:
diagD+L 851
diagD+R 853

So seperated by 2 rather than 3. Look at the numpad on your keyboard to get an idea which direction corresponds to which number. The 1 is at the bottom left so it corresponds with D+L, the 2 is bottom centre so it corresponds with D, the 3 is bottom right so it corresponds with D+R and so on...
The basewalk should be 850, which is the number for the sprites in the walk sequence rounded down to the nearest multiple of ten.
EDIT: Also, this character looks pretty interesting.

Look at the numpad - that's how the direction system works. It's also a lot easier to keep track of if you use XX0 as the base. The mistake you've done is that each sequence should only be separated by 2 numbers, not 3. With 853 as the base,
854 = Dir 1
856 = Dir 3
858 = Death seq
860 = Dir 7
862 = Dir 9
