Whats wrong with a little bit a of meat I mean meat isnt the worst thing to eat soft drinks and beer and lollies are far worse then natural meat.
Humans are Omnivores by nature like Crows and SOME dogs(Not all dogs) eating meat and cooking is how we evolved.
Alot of them say its 'immoral" to eat meat even though we buy most of our meat free range.

If there is any vegetarians on this forum I am not trying to force meat onto to you im just asking on why do you think its so immoral to do so.

If you think about it - it is before the meat stage they dont like - its how the meat got on their plate, well for the ones I know.... thats how its immoral - how we get them from paddock to plate.

They dont want to think animals suffered for them to be able to eat. Getting the cow into small bits and on our plates isnt always humane, basically we slaughter sweet furry animals for us to gobble up - its the manner we do it in that upsets so many (and I know some just dont like eating meat - if thats how u feel this paragraph isnt for you - back away and keep your eyes averted ok...)

Now where were we... ahh yes...

...bashing them on the head is pretty slow, electric prod up the guzunga isnt that nice (well i wouldnt like it) slit throat and you just bleed everywhere - i mean come on, die quietly wont you geesh.

And humans started out as plant eaters, we forraged what we could, ate as we hungered and didnt have meat. We ate nuts berries fruit etc cause we didnt have fire to cook animals, teeth werent able to sink into a cows butt and extract a raw biteful, nor were we fleet enough of foot to catch the beggars - man they could run!

We need protein and some just choose to get it other than from meat - nothing wrong with that.

Funny thing is plants scream when we pick them too

Because PETA told them the meat'll eat them.

Being serious though, I think it's stupid how vegetarians think animals should go on like whopsy whiffling time twiddlers while we starve ourselves on unappetizing broccoli.

Yes but we have evolved into eating meat and cooking it hence helping our brains to grow the way it is today cooking and eating meat is what made us modern humans.

Thats not always the case some animals are treated humanely especially the free range ones.

eating meat is what made us modern humans.

I don't think this is a good argument. Likewise, modern Europe is mostly shaped by wars. Do you suggest we should continue with those as well?

As for meat, I don't eat much of it (less than once a month, I think). My main reason is that eating meat is bad for the planet. We have too many people, and meat has to be fed as well, which means that its footprint is huge compared to plants. There are poor countries where people are starving, that are growing corn which is sold to the rich countries as food for our cows. I feel quite uncomfortable supporting such a system.

Eating a vegan diet is more economical, healthful and friendly to the planet.

1.Meat is extremely expensive compared to basic grains and vegetables. Especially if we're talking about meat that's produced in a sustainable and organic matter, which will greatly add to the cost. Rice and beans, on the other hand, provide complete protein at a fraction of the cost. A.K.A "good" meat isn't an economical option for most people, even in the developed world.

2.For how much industrial meat production rapes the land, the nutritional output is relatively low. Vegetables have more vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals and fiber on a per calorie basis. A.K.A, meat is less than vital to a healthy diet in the developed world.

3.If a humans are reduced to the level of a common animals (e.g a breakdown of society from some post-apocalyptic scenario) or still living as nomads in a backwards country (e.g Africa), then meat consumption for survival is completely reasonable. However, that obviously isn't the case for the developed world (e.g everyone who has the capacity to post in this thread). A.K.A, meat isn't necessary for our survival.

4.Omnivorous cans survive on meat AND/OR plants. There is absolutely nothing essential in meat that plants can't easily replace. Don't even mention protein. Simple combinations of various plants, quinoa and soy provide high quality protein. As a vegan weight lifter, I can attest to the fact that I've seen good results that differ little from when I was a vegetarian and even farther back when I was eating meat. A.K.A if you actually need "muh protein" that bad plants will easily suffice.

6.If you want a little meat go out and hunt it down. Quit relying on companies that harm our planets for "muh protein". That would just be natural.
A.K.A, industrial meat production isn't "natural".

5.Quit starting inflammatory arguments that you're never prepared for outside of a cursory internet search. A.K.A stop being you.

6.Troll on my wayward son, they'll be rage when you are done. A.K.A keep being you.

I get my meat directly from a farm where the farmer treats his livestock properly. You are what you eat, so if the animal is happy before it dies, and as it dies, the better quality meat there is, and the better quality of meat makes you happy and healthy.

Having previously been a vegetarian I have had many conversations about the topic and can tell you that these discussions usually go nowhere and/or turn into an argument.

Punisher - no - just NO "Some" isnt enough 'all' is how we should aim.

isnt it funny how organic stuff costs more - you would think making time to stuff our animals with antibiotics, hormones, growth hormones, preservatives and whatever other nasties we get would cost more than not dinkising the ground, food and animals we eat would huh. How is a free range egg more expensive - you may have to look for the eggs but thats about it, grow real food for them to eat and you get a decent healthy product back. (lol i made a pun 'back' - where do eggs come from.. oh i kill myself some times hehe - sorry... chuckles...)

Kris... Not sure an animal can be "happy when it dies" i mean wtf? Glad to have served us u think? Happy to be a steak instead of running free in a grassy paddock? um NO

We gotta take care of our planet guys, you need somewhere for your kids to live, mine are doing their bit to mess it up for you lot heh but not thinking of when theirs come along. Did u know when we die now, your body will last at least a week without breaking down - in the old days if u weren't buried within a day or two you rotted so fast - now our bodies are preserved from all the preservatives in food we eat - we are indeed what we eat and should take a lot more care with how the manufacturers are allowed to mess with our food like they do.

Its nasty what they put in our food. yet we accept it and allow this to continue because they make eating convenient and fast (losing the old family eating together thing that made families gel). I agree - hunt down what u want - but go bush to do it - anything close to the vicinity of man is compromised i fear

oooh and Rainmaker ... agree totally - high 5

to the nay sayers... well - just BITE ME

Didn't you read the hitch-hiker's guide?

I didn't know that, but I don't believe it's because of the preservatives. Much more likely, it's because of the hygiene; there aren't so many micro-organisms around to make the body decay as there used to be a few centuries ago.

Hmm i disagree I think, in the old days it was the done thing to wash down the body - quite a group thing to do - like a huge mark of respect and something that was done with reverence and great pride in the task - it was done very very thoroughly - but they dont even do that nowdays when someone dies in the hospital, in fact i think you are lucky to get your dead hands and face washed.

So i would think it was the other way around The sheer thoroughness of the body cleaning back then couldn't have left as many organisms as we do with the lack of prep today. They were squeeky clean to be buried and the clothing was immaculately washed and ironed/pressed (also killing bacteria on the clothes).

and yes LOVE the hitch hikers guide hehe

Thank you - Happy birthday to you too Deenikins Still 97 years young then?

Edit: Oh how could I have forgotten to mention Sex Pistols and The Clash, they're my two favourite bands of all.

Well right now its just me but i can find out I believe they dont like the taste thats one of the reasons the other reasons might be for health benefits the third reason might for animal rights its either It might one of those reasons however I wanted to if there were any vegetarians on this board and to ask them why.
