Mine would probaly be the PC

PC has more feature and is much more powerful and it dosent have the annoying fanbase like the PS does.

I prefer the Snes. Simple, yet elegant, with a diverse range of games, some good, some not so good, and some that will blow your effin' brains out. I mean, there are games that will made you really look at the universe from a different perspective. I haven't encountered a modern game that has done to me what Snes games could.

Hmm..
I don't think you can compare PC with the other gaming platforms, it's a whole other thing.

Anyway... when it comes to consoles my favorites are GameCube and Play Station 2.

Oh and I love handheld gaming, where my favorite would have to be the GameBoy Advance SP.

Life? What's that? Can I download it?!
Yes, video games are console gaming. In contrast to the glorious PC master race I dig the PS1 and SNES most.

Handheld, it gotta be the GBA.

I would have to say PC, since I have a game boy on it for one and all the other games I have downloaded like age of Mythology and Dink, though my second would be the original Xbox because Fable TLC was just awesome, and since my dad hacked it we get Nintendo 64 games like Gex.

Sure you can. PC wins every time. :B The one thing I like about consoles (or did in the past, consoles seem more and more like PCs these days) is that they're all the same, there's no fiddling involved to get a game to run; just insert the thing and play.

Regarding to the good ole 16bit console war, I have to say I'm very partial to the Megadrive. The only thing the SNES has going for it are Final Fantasy style JRPGs. Take games with actual gameplay, and the Megadrive wins hands down.

Actual gameplay? You mean like Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Terranigma, Super Metroid, Turtles in Time, Super Mario Kart/ F-Zero, Kirby Super Star (my favorite Kirby game ever), Super Castlevania IV, Donkey Country Series (2 is amazing), And A Link to the Past?

Maybe it's just taste, but I haven't found many Megadrive/Genesis games I'd hold up to that level. To be fair though, I doubt I have played as many sega games as you or Cocomonkey. I have played a Sega CD game called Popful Mail though. It's 10000x better than it sounds, but very unknown. I recommend it to any Sega fan (especially one who likes the Wonder Boy series like Wonder Boy in Monster World), it's worth the trouble of setting up the Sega CD emulator.

Other thank Chrono Trigger, yeah. (I guess Chrono Trigger is a bit more involved than choice-based battle systems usually, but still.)

I'd take Streets of Rage over Turtles in Time any day, Rocket Knight Adventures and the Sonic games over Mario and Kirby, or games like Beyond Oasis, or Soleil over Zelda. I never played much of Donkey Kong Country... the only thing I remember about that one are the godawful 3D graphics. =) Castlevania was also on the Megadrive, IIRC.

Super Metroid is neat, but mostly for its atmosphere. Also, my all-time favourite SNES game - Demon's Crest!

I should probably say that I've never been a fan of either Mario or Zelda; both of those franchises bore me to tears. (That's for the SNES and before stuff, I haven't played anything recent.)

Megadrive also has the better TRPGS, like the Shining Force and Warsong... But not the FF-style JRPGs. Pretty much the only thing on the Megadrive is Phantasy Star, while the SNES got Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, Chrono Trigger, EarthBound...

I'm surprised Demon's crest is your favorite Super Nintendo game, it's usually not even on the radar for people. That said, I actually like the game quite a bit too, although it's shorter than I'd like it's still very fun and well made. And awesome music.

I want to play Demon's Crest, but I can't until I beat Gargoyle's Quest 1 and 2. I have this thing where I don't play games unless I've beaten the game before it. Especially if the game has a continuous storyline. Notable exemptions are the Soul Blazer Series, Fallout Series, Elder Scrolls Series, and Legend of Zelda.

It's definitely not one of those games where you feel like you *must* know what happens before it. But it still may be worth trying the ones before it, not sure. Demon's Crest is the only Firebrand game I have played.

Both Sega's and Nintendo's consoles barely have anything good to offer. Both just mostly raped Arcade to death.

But the most overrated consoles without at doubt are the XBox and the XBox 360. The fact that those consoles even exist is a sign that they're overrated.

Definatly not the original Xbox that thing was a powerhouse for a 2001 machine

360 maybe a little bit

I sense a Sony/PS fanboy

Ok Skull what do you think is the greatest console of all time?

I wouldn't call myself a PS fanboy, and definitely not a Sony fanboy, but yes, I'd have to say the original PlayStation is probably my favourite console. How could I not? That's when home gaming actually became popular here. Many say that console was the end of "true gaming", but I'd have to say it was the actual beginning. At least here in Europe. XBox is where gaming really died, and the XBox 360 delivered the final death blow. PS3 didn't do anything to help, either.

If you want to go back in time to what was my favourite before PS, it would probably have to be Atari 2600. Not that anyone ever played it here, unless you were rich + interested in video gaming, which most people here weren't until the 90s.

I remember we had a PS1 for a little while and I remember playing Resident Evil and yeah is was ok I remember the boot up screen was quite atmospheric especially in comparison with the modern consoles

But I recon the N64 was better then the PS1 despite it using cartridges it was great especially the controller I remember Goldeneye 007 being one of my favourite games.

I just went through the entire list of PS1 games, and picked every game that either I thought was great/good, and the ones that were big successes. These include:

Ape Escape, Army Men, Battle Arena Toshinden, Disney games, Carmageddon, Symphony of the Night, Crash -series, Diablo, Dino Crisis, Duke Nukem, Final Fantasy VII, Gex, GTA I & II, Gran Turismo, MediEvil, Mortal Kombat II, Oddworld 1 & 2, Pandemonium, Rayman -series, Resident Evil -series, Red Alert, Silent Hill, Spyro -series, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Syphon Filter -series, Tekken, Tom and Jerry House Trap, WWE games, Wild ARMs, Worms Armageddon.

On top of this, the PS1 had its own Bond games which were ok, new versions of classic Atari games, and the first RPG Maker. There's a lot more but I'd be writing the entire forum broken if I went that far.

Meanwhile, the N64 has only a few good games I can see. And they are the same games as PS1 has, or sequels to them which aren't as good. It only has a few of its own good titles, such as Conker. This was still back when games actually mattered, and everybody just didn't go with the "coolness" factor. And due to that, there's no way the N64 could compete with PS1, and that's why it eventually lost, so to speak.

False: The XBOX was created to compete with the Playstation consoles, people overrated it later on. Existence does not equal a rating, it's the people who rate them that equal a rating.

The creators thought it was a good idea to create the XBox. Therefore, it was overrated before it even existed.

Irrelevant. Everything the creator think is good doesn't matter, it's the people outside of the product that determines the rating.

Red alert? REALLY red alert you do know that Consoles RTS 99.9% are complete pile of messes I even remember playing Red Alert on of cousins PS1 and trust me much better off with the PC version LIKE ALWAYS
I even remember we had Warcraft 2 on PS1 and like always it was far below what the PC version is.

Actually, Skull, the Xbox is a fairly versatile console with quite a few good games to its name. Such games as Beyond Good and Evil, Fable, Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon, Brute Force, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Headhunter: Redemption, Fahrenheit, KotOR 1 and 2, Jade Empire, Prince of Persia Sands of Time to PoP: The Two Thrones, Psychonauts, The Suffering, Thief: Deadly Shadows, and a LOT more. All of these games that I listed are either in my bedroom, or I've played them or have wanted to play them. (Psychonauts and Sands of Time saga aside from the first are the only three I haven't played.) Sure, there are some games that are really overrated, but that doesn't mean the whole console is overrated. I'm sure there are some really overrated games for the Playstation.

Man, those games you listed just... suck. I'm surprised with all of those, you didn't mention Halo. Now that would've put the final nail on the coffin. xD When you include the newer Prince of Persia games, you know the average of the list can't be too high. The best one out of those games is probably Conker: Live and Reloaded, but they even screwed that one up by adding too much new, stupid content.

Yes, there are overrated games on the PlayStation. But at least it's its worst games that are overrated, not the ones considered best.

Does it really matter if a console is overrated or not? Even if it is, the console still works and regardless of which console one has they can play most every good game that comes out anyways.

Actually, a quite a few of the games I listed barely meet a blip on anyone's radar. Half of the games people are like, 'Huh?' Also, have you even played the Xbox? I've played both the Xbox and the PS2 and have, at minimum, a basis for comparison. Both consoles have their high and low points, each has their good games, their bad games, and their stupidly overrated and underrated games.
