I just went through the entire list of PS1 games, and picked every game that either I thought was great/good, and the ones that were big successes. These include:

Ape Escape, Army Men, Battle Arena Toshinden, Disney games, Carmageddon, Symphony of the Night, Crash -series, Diablo, Dino Crisis, Duke Nukem, Final Fantasy VII, Gex, GTA I & II, Gran Turismo, MediEvil, Mortal Kombat II, Oddworld 1 & 2, Pandemonium, Rayman -series, Resident Evil -series, Red Alert, Silent Hill, Spyro -series, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Syphon Filter -series, Tekken, Tom and Jerry House Trap, WWE games, Wild ARMs, Worms Armageddon.

On top of this, the PS1 had its own Bond games which were ok, new versions of classic Atari games, and the first RPG Maker. There's a lot more but I'd be writing the entire forum broken if I went that far.

Meanwhile, the N64 has only a few good games I can see. And they are the same games as PS1 has, or sequels to them which aren't as good. It only has a few of its own good titles, such as Conker. This was still back when games actually mattered, and everybody just didn't go with the "coolness" factor. And due to that, there's no way the N64 could compete with PS1, and that's why it eventually lost, so to speak.
