Screen 256
What, am I missing something here? Cause I can't see anything.
Bwahaha! Nice find. Never heard anyone mention that before, I wonder if you may even be the first one. Just gotta find Justin now.
@Skull, You probably aren't looking hard enough.
I love that I am still discovering things about Dink in 2013.

Pretty sure I looked through everything in that screen. First in the editor and then in the game itself.
Just look closely at the darkness at the bottom of the screen. You don't need to be in the game to see it. If you still don't see it, maybe this screenshot will help:

Eh, I still see nothing. I think you guys are just delusional.
Wow, that is hard to see.
Try putting dots on the tiles.
Was Pap part of the original team or a friend, someone please share a history lesson?

Yeah I've seen many things in the Quotes, things I'd like to forget too, I have seen Pap in the circulation a couple of times.
Pap is mentioned a lot in the source. some of the scripts are even named after him.
That was really hard to see. It's still crazy that nobody found it (or found it and said so) before now.

It's really no wonder if nobody has noticed that before. The screen can't even be entered from within the game itself.
I only found it because I wanted to see how the mapping was for the darklands in the original Dink. I was looking around at it and low and behold, there it was, "Pap".
I noticed that years ago when going over the tiles, didn't think it was still something undiscovered for many
In WDE+ it's really visible on my monitor. I realize now I probably have my brightness set up WAY too high...

If it's unreachable without cheats, then why did Seth put it in?
I believe it's called an "easter egg."

An editor easter egg? It's certainly not an easter egg when it comes to the game. In fact, the "pap" is probably the only reason that screen exists, cause it serves no other purpose.

Why not? They knew the users would be using the editor.
Plus, you can reach that screen ingame without cheating. I did it just now to check. There's a hardness error on one of the bridges on the secret duck island that lets you walk where you please, and you can use it to get to the "PAP" screen.
Not that I mean to suggest that hardness error was intentional, of course.

1. But it's not Easter.
2. The users could use the editor when the game was being sold?
3. Not everyone would look for said bridge and then look for screen 256, just to try and see PAP.

The editor was available before the game became freeware in late 99, obviously - how would we have made all those DMODs in 98 and most of 99 otherwise?
