The problem is the poster is using a Getright/Download Accelerator/etc. that uses a very stupid way of checking the URLs of what files to download. To the poster: either disable your Getright-type program, or get a better one that checks for the file-type, not the url extension. Most don't say what technique they use, but I know that FlashGet uses the correct one.

Oh, now that you say that, it makes perfect sense. I was thinking the miasma 2.0 database was telling them it was 8k in size or gamespy was (meaning the file is corrupted on the server). Sorry, my fault.

Yeah, I tried a few different ones, but I don't like them. I'm on broadband anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Although friends say it does, but the download accelerators never seem to be doing what they should be doing...

The problem is the FilePlanet link on each File page doesn't link directly to the file. It links to a FilePlanet page, which lists the servers on which the file is available (and will have you wait in line if the servers are full; a rare occurance). You also need a FilePlanet account to download from FilePlanet.

If there is a little icon in your system tray (next to the clock) for your download accelerator, try right-clicking it. A menu should pop-up, and give you the option of disabling it. If that doesn't work, it should have some sort of help file that will tell you how.
