I had a nightmare.
Granted, half the crap I dream of would be nightmares to a normal person. So my nightmare was what you would call 'A time to visit a shrink'.
I actually know why I had a nightmare. It was because I found out a few things about the Earthbound boss, Giygas that is really, really creepy.
So, yeah. I did research into the game and found some creepy things out. One of which is that one of the locations 'Cave of the Past' holds the Devil's Machine. Devil's Machine. Creepy.
There you find Ness' face in what appears at first glance to be an eyeball. Next, you fight Pokey Minch and Giygas, whaling on Pokey until he's gone. Then the machine is turned off and Giygas is released.
Giygas' theme and forms Note! May contain content unsuitable for people under the age of fifteen and/or are bleeding heart liberals.
So, what could be so bad about Giygas that it would cause nightmares that even I think are insane? For starters, Giygas talks like a freaking mental patient who thinks he's a seven year old boy! Quoted from a Wikia page:Shigesato Itoi has stated that his inspiration for Giygas' speech in EarthBound came from a traumatic childhood experience where he accidentally walked into an adult movie theater and caught a glimpse of a rape scene in the 1957 film "The Military Policeman and the Dismembered Beauty" In actuality, there was no rape scene in this film, instead a murder scene. As Itoi was a child at the time, he has stated his lasting memory of this experience is fuzzy at best. YEEAAAHHHHH... Not only that, but that very 'rape scene' was what gave birth to Giygas' final form. Another Quote: Giygas is also considered by many gamers the most disturbing boss battle in any video game, as his final form resembles a fetus. It is also noted that the overworld before the battle looks like the cervix and the womb.
If you don't see it in the video I linked, you might want to look a bit closer, The video shows it easily. Now, note that once you see it, you can't un-see it. So, yeah. What's more creepy is that you go into the past to fight him at his weakest. Now, unless you haven't done the math; Traumatic experience+ fighting Giygas in the past + a final form too coincidential to be unintentional = Itoi wanting the players to essentially abort Giygas. Any thoughts?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. Let's just say some disturbing images that didn't make any logical sense, even in my subconscious mind! And everyone has had that dream about the boat in the dry riverbed with the vibrating beaver singing 'Row row row your boat!'
But isn't reality the same thing?
Usually, I don't have disturbing dreams. Did you read through my first post and look at the links?
And the silhouette in the final form? *shudder* I didn't even see it when I freakin' fought him! All I saw was a trippy picture. Not to mention the song was disturbing. Kind of like all of a sudden hearing a carousel song playing inside a creepy old house and random laughter assaulting your ears.
Too be honest, I can't even get past the second boss. That titan ant thing.
Yeah, he was tough then. All you really have to do is just fight the black antoids until you get to a high enough level. Are you using an Emulator?
Yup. Probably don't even have it anymore.
But yeah, if you do decide to watch the video, be forewarned that if you do see the baby fetus in the final form picture, you may be scarred for life. At least Lavos is nowhere near as disturbing!
Giyvos?
Besides, I have seen the battle.

XD Giyvos. Combine Giygas' disturbances and Lavos' scream and you get mindrape. Literally.
Speaking of Lavos. Since I cannot fall asleep, I'm playing Chrono Trigger. Again.

Lavos was hard until you get to lvl 60+.
I used Ayla Crono and Lucca in my fights all the time.
BTW, Ayla is hot.
EDIT: Stars of Destiny...? what are you talking about?

Giygas is freaky as fck, easily the most disturbing one. Never played any of the Earthbound games but I've got all endings on Chrono Trigger.
So wait... you get nightmares of children's games?
It's supposed to be a children's game but the final boss is a red fetus with skulls and has the most spooky music evah. It also talks to the players in a psycho way.
What's so scary about a red fetus with skulls that has (not) the most spooky music evah and who talks to the players in a psycho way?

The answer
Because it reminds us of you, Skull :3
Kidding, of course. It just begs the question of what possible parents exist that could give birth to a living, breathing, talking Skull.

No, Skull, the ghost was not Skorn but me. Before you ask
i clicked the link at the top, but after reading all the comments i wimped out...
OMG! This is definetly the best game on super nintendo ever! I never thought of the last boss of creepy when I was younger playing this game. Maybe now I can see what you mean a little.
But I still think that this was the best game EVER for super nintendo. Now I gotta go play it--see ya!

Wow, it gives me chills how you guys have been playing such games and thought they were the best.
EDIT: Do you know what's really much more creepier and disturbing than this? In Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, which was rated +3, they have soviet labor camps for Mudokon convicts.

Those aren't Soviet labour camps, they're Nazi Prison Camps for the Jewish Population. Of Mudokon.
In a Soviet labour camp, Mudokon would have Humans imprisoned.
Now, back on topic. Stop crying over that fetus junk!

As I stated before, it's way too coincidental to be accidental. Oddly enough, someone even pointed out where Mickey Mouse appears in the form. There's a spot to the upper left of the fetus.
Speaking of Earthbound...I think the NES one is the best in my opinion. Beacuse of the plot and there we will meet Giygas before he was a red fetus. Oh and by the way...I've fought Giygas in Earthbound when it was midnight .
EDIT: Also not to forget Earthbound 2 a.k.a Mother 3. It have the most saddest ending ever.
