The head slicing is the whole point! 
That is what I "borrowed" from redink1's End Of Time. I just couldn't resist it at that time, making that joke.
Now I realize that I should have made it another way, like Dink can catch the boomerang as normal a few times before a duck suddenly survives and knocks it right in Dink's direction while Dink is frozen. Then, when Dink dies by decapitation, the very same death he tried to give the ducks, there should be a message on the screen, stating: "Congratulations, boomerang! You won!", referring to current and growing disputes around whether you control technology or technology controls you. Or indeed this could be seen as the ducks' revenge over Dink because of the way he (and the player through him) treats animals.
Again, this is not art, it is a simple joke.
