In Flames above all, nice techno and similar death metal... Linking Park is also good
I don't have a favourite genre, and not really a band, either. But I think most stuff that Frank Zappa creates is really good.
I don't have a favourite band, but I understand a much about music. And I can say that rap sucks!
My favorite band is probably Radiohead. Followd by (in random order) Tool, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Dead Kennedies, Placebo, Dream Theater... probably much more.
Hear? I hear lots of music, but then there's stuff I listen too...
I like Classic Rock most of all. Bands like Fleetwood Mac, America, The Moody Blues, Led Zeppelin, Billy Joel, Gordon Lightfoot, and so on. I also listen to a smattering of a few songs of various other genres and artists. Anything by Lorenna McKennit (Celtic), random techno, and some new songs.
Also...does YTMND remix/fan stuff count?
Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

You mean "created", he's been dead for a few years now. Too bad, because he's always been one of my favorites.
I don't know if your familiar wiht the band "Yello", I like alot of their stuff because it's funny.
As far as a "musical style" I'm into fusion-jazz.

Series 3 Doctor Who soundtrack MIDIs. When I'm not listening to them, I'm listening to the 20 versions of the Doctor Who Theme I downloaded.
Hm, I was sure I said "created". dang S being so near the D...
Never heard of Yello, I'll try to check it out.

I listen to an internet radio station associated with Kingdom of Loathing. It's not one specific style, but rather a lot of DJs with their own preferences. They've played a lot music of artists that I'd otherwise not known of.
To name a few of my favourites:
Gogol Bordello
They Might Be Giants
Voltaire
Jonathan Coulton
MC Frontalot
And there's oldies like these that I enjoy:
Queen
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
I also have a good collection of OCRemix music that I occasionally listen to.
To end with, a few artists of whom I haven't heard much yet, but make me want more:
Sonata Arctica
The Cat Empire
Neutral Milk Hotel
[/linkspam]
There's more, but this is what I can come up with right now.

My friend's crazy about Click 5 but I prefer Linkin Park and ther song " What I've Done".
I'm in TOTAL agreement with you on this one; TO ME rap ISN'T EVEN MUSIC!!
I lived in Ohio, for a while, and my room-mate was black; he was pretty cool, but when his friends would come over: they spoke a different language(S.P!?
I have always disliked this form of music (I don't even consider it AS Music)I have the same feelings for "Raggie" (S.P.),)
music!
I , myself like "old rock& ROLL; JAZZ, blues, and especially "FRANK ZAPPA)
P.S. I know he died: he WAS the master!!
At one time I had everything he'd done on either cassette, or vinlyl, or, C.D.
If you want to know more about {"UNCLE FRANK")
"then please email me at: ecnal1955@hotmail.com I hope someone else is a FAN?!!

Just to give you a head's up, "Yello, might be Defunct" now: (They're no longer together), but I still get emails from their site! TRY "google", and you might be able to get some free downloads! If worse comes to worse, then email me and "tell me how to "burn" some "Yello" for you!!ecnal1955@hotmail.com P.S. my broter is a "TECH" at a computer firm, but, he now is dating a "FINE" girl, and the chances of him comming out to fix this machine are minamal to zero!(s.p.)

I think there from EUROPE, maybe england, possibly germany.
They DO have a website (can't remember off the top of my brain, but you can GOOGLE IT.
YELLO is not for everyone: I've gotten into several arguments(almost fights) over they're music!!
Anyway, it's a long story!

Hip-hop. Tsk. I don't even see why they can call that music. I can handle most things, but hip-hop is out of the question. If I could change one thing about the music scene, it would be to completely abolish hip-hop.
I don't hear music...I hear voices...they're saying 'do it! bump that thread!'
Good or no, they still fall under the category "music".
IMO, some hip-hop is actually good... it's just that the overwhelming majority of what I usually hear is really, really awful.
Yeah, I can hear it too...
"Un... bump that thead. Uh! ...bump that thread! Oh! ...bump that thread!"

Let's use this thread to mention and discuss good music that isn't normally heard of or considered good. I mean everyone who's ever had a radio has heard lots of songs from all genres often many times. However there are many songs I feel just as good as the ones on the radio that never get played. I suppose they select songs for radio based on what the average listener may like, but the fact is just as the average listener won't like all the "average" songs the average listener may like songs that most "average" listeners don't like and hence won't get put on the radio.
I've heard these two songs at work (where they play mostly old or unheard of music they can buy cheap), but never on radio and I love them yet can't figure out why they won't go on air. I suppose it's my personal taste.
Guster - "Satellite"
and
Julian Lennon - "Valotte"
I'm sure many of you here have favorite songs from CD's or that you've heard on obscure stations that most people have never heard of. Mention some.
Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Monty Python are awesome. My favourite 'song' of theirs is I've Got Two Legs. Weird Al Yankovic is pretty cool too. One more: Welcome To The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. It's pretty cool.
