contest #1:

dink smallwood costume contest

make a costume for your favorite dink character (headless duck, dink, lyna, milder, mog, martridge, pillpug, slayer, ethel, bonca, dragon, dead dragon carcass worshipper, dinks mom, the flower girl, a tree, etc) pretend we are having one of those dork conventions where everyone dresses up like a tart from some anime video game or something

snap some pics, email them to joshriot and we will upload all pics and name the winner

rules:

1. naked characters from simonk's sick, sick dmods are allowable however they wont be uploaded we are not going to get the dink network shut down over some 12 year old's hairless ass

2. the pictures must be of YOU in a costume, ie you cant take a picture of an actual duck or a pig and try to submit it, you must MAKE a costume that you wear yourself or it wont be uploaded

3. to the smartass who is thinking "heee heee ill just send in a picture of the actual seth in real life heheee heeee" nice try dumb ass, unless seth sends the picture in himself it doesnt count and will not be uploaded

prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd places will receive 1 prize each

deadline: october 15

contest #2:

the 1 screen dmod contest

make a dmod as complicated or as simple as youd like. the only rule is you can only take up 1 screen and only 1 screen. you may use visions, spawn graphics to the screen, load in different tiles any trick youd like as long as you only use 1 screen.

the 1 screen can be a game it can be a cut scene of a duck exploding and fade to black and say "the end" it can be a boss that is really hard to fight it can be ANYTHING you want and involve any style of gameplay or characters that you wish

the dmods may NOT be submitted to dink network as a 1 screen dmod they must be emailed to joshriot or they will not count for the contest

i will then compile all the 1 screen dmods into a single map file and submit it as a single dmod with a list of all the seperate 1 screen dmods on the title screen

rules:

1. your dmod can take up 1 screen and ONLY one screen

2. if your scripts need to refer to the map number of your screen anywhere (would anyone even need to?) tell me what screen number you use and just pick some random number like 265 so that when i put it into the dmod of everyones different screen your scripts will still work

3. dont make a title screen because it wont be used, there will be only 1 title screen with buttons or something for all the different 1 screen dmods (if you want to make a custom bottom to click to play your dmod just use that to start your dmod on your title screen and i might use those)

prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd places will receive 1 prize each

deadline: october 15

the prizes will be given in order, so the 1st places will get to pick first, then the 2nd, then the third get whatever is leftover

I'll be entering the 1 screen Dmod compo, as I'm too shy to go and make Dink merch.

So you're planning on putting all entries into one bigger Dmod then? Hm, not a bad idea.

Count me in on the 1 screen DMOD aswell.

Well, considering I'm spending most of my time looking for work and don't have Dink at all on this busted old laptop that doesn't even have sound... yeah, okay, sure I'm lazy.

Dink Smallwood character Cosplay sounds alot of fun But I'd rather ot entry in anything as I'm too busy.

well so far i have 0 submissions which means that if you submit a pic right now, you have a 100% success rate at this point. if 1 other person joins it goes down to 50% but hey its still a coin toss, for all i care you could take a pic of yourself in a green sweater and say you are the green merchant im not looking for 1 or 2 high quality submissions im looking for a dozen submissions some can be well done and some just silly the goal is to be fun and PARTICIPATE. there is no funding for this contest the prizes are coming directly out of sharp and my own time and money, international shipping rates are not cheap, these are hand made prizes, if we can do this out of nothing but dink driven insanity i think you can manage to strap a few bottles to your chest and submit yourself as the potion shelf.

busy my ass. you need to stop getting stoned for more than 2 days i suspect.

I'll have a go at the 1 screen D-mod and I might take a pic of myself looking slightly more strange than usual.

Ok everybody, tommorrow is the deadline for the contests. Any competition?

Depends where you live In the US it's still the 13th. I think the deadline is Monday. I kinda slacked off so I won't be competing.

Today in Australia it's the 14th. Sunday. I'm done my D-MOD. I'm not sure what we were supposed to do at the end of the D-MOD, but I added credits and made it restart to the main menu. Anyway, I'm emailing my entry to Joshriot now.

I had planned to but was too busy with working, moving, and hunting to finish up.

Nope

I just need to finish off a couple of bits and I'll be sending mine some time today.

look for the final dmod within a week ill give it 2 more days and then get to work

Oh shoot, I haven't had time to do anything decent at all. Oh well, maybe next time?
