Re: What Dmod should people play first?
I would recommend Quest for Cheese or Isle of Croth, just because they are relatively easy but still very good.
I think all Carrie's D-Mod's should be played first, they are good, and pretty easy to beat

Yes, I recommend Carrie's D-Mods, they are pretty good. But the first D-Mod I played was Richard's Revenge. I wouldn't recommend that one!
I played Helping the old duckfarmer as my first D-Mod. It didn't feel so bad. I would recommend Cloud Castle 1, aswell
I would advice against cloud castle as a first DMOD, it's quite tough, especially on the fighting part. I played Dinky Dimensions 2 as a first DMOD and prophecy of the ancients as the first epic DMOD. I think they're good for a start.
Isle of Croth is good for a start, but I don't know about quest for cheese. Maybe it's too stupid for someone who hasn't played anything before.
I personally think Once in a lifetime is a great start, it's not that hard, and it's well made.

The first D-Mod I played was "Blood Scorpions". That was a really good start because it wasn't too hard and it was so many new cool stuff in it that you had not seen in the main game.
I don't think "Once in a lifetime" is the best choice to begin with. When I was new and played it, I did get stuck and didn't know what to do many times...

Yes, you're quite right metatarasal. CC is pretty tough. But, Fifteen Tasks of Dink is also pretty goon one.
The Tragic Death of Dink Smallwood, followed by Once In a Lifetime.
Then possibly Prophecy of the Ancients, with FIAT after? Just to get a taste of some quality epics.
I'd also highly recommend The Valley of the Talking Trees for newcomers to Dink. It's humorous, and shows what's possible with DinkC.
Cloud Castle is very difficult in some areas, so I wouldn't recommend it as a first d-mod.

The Quest for Dorinthia series is a good start as well in my opinion.
I didn't like Mystery Island much... Especially the random bit at the start...
I agree with skull Cloud Castle was a great first Dmod to play
Also, I would recomment Simeons D-Mods. Atleast, Once in a Lifetime and Blood Scorpions.
Oh Skull by the way it's Simon's Dmods not Simeons D-mods but yeah try pilgrims quest or something like that
What do you mean?
Simeon made Once in a Lifetime and Blood scorpions!

I think I played As Good As Eternity first, followed by Prophecy Of The Ancients. I went for the epics.
I liked them, and don't remember finding them too hard or long or whatever.

Hey you two...
Keep in mind this thread is about recommending which D-Mod to play first, not which are your favourites.

Ahem.Sparrow i wrote what i recommend NOT what are my fav d-mods.Read my post carefully.
I wouldn't recommend big epics as your first D-Mods. You want a romp or two to play first. You start of small, then when you've played a few romps, go onto a quest or two. After you finish them, then try an epic.

If you finished the original game, you have played an epic already
The said applies to making DMods rather than playing them.

I also agree. I didn't want to play anything less than an epic after finishing the main dink game. I moved to quests after playing all epics.
The main game is too easy to be an epic though. It's an easy epic. But I would just recommend a romp or two as your first D-Mod.
