What's wrong about liking North Korea over America??

From what I've read, it is unlikely to be a nuclear bomb test. It would have been picked up by seismologists, all GPS satellites have special gear used to check for nuclear detonations, and this happened Thursday night. There's just too much doubt, as it could be a conventional weapon explosion, or perhaps a missile site blowing up.

If North Korea would "try" to bomb someone, Russia or America would stop it right away.
**EDIT** They aren't a treat in the meaning to be a powerful country, they are a treat to kill many innocent people like the Americans did in WW2.

There's more its unconfirmed that anything is confirmed going around. Basically, no one knows for *sure* what happened, confusing reports are coming in (from Japan's recent earthquakes) and no one trust's a certian administration that has the capability of finding the truth quickly, to actually tell the truth, and not the truth that best serves their interests. But the worst part it, it never hit the western media until over two days had passed. Now why wouldn't someone(western gov't's) start out saying imediatly after it happened that it was an ammo dump explosion right then, rather than just saying it was a "non-nuclear" explosion. (And waiting a few days to do even that!)

One thing north korea has always built very well is missles. Much of thier income is from selling short and med range missles to places like China and mid east. Not much of a buisness though, many people there starve.
They may learn the hard way that having the bomb is like carrying a handgun. I makes you feel strong, but it only makes you a target.

Hate to point this out, especially to any of you who might live in the US, but this fuss about North Korea's nuclear programme only started after aid was cut off by Bush.
There are a lot of starving people there, and starving people are generally angry.
If the government doesn't want civil unrest it has to show the angry starving people it's doing something. It's the classic distraction technique.
Hence, developing weapons. Or war. Why did WWII start? The Germans were starving! It was a depression and their country had no money. They were desperate, and that's why they voted hitler in.

Completely true Valoveer! Anytime people are desperate they can easily be distracted and do the wrong thing.

Yes, but...
thier starving is not Bushs' fault.(I can't believe I admitted something is not his fault, he belongs in jail!)
Thier starving is the fault of thier own dictator who (like Fidel Castro and others)keep thier people poor to keep themselves in power.
They have used this ploy every few years or so to get more aid for thier people even though it doesn't reach the people.
This time though, No-one took the small bait, now he's raising the stakes.
It's gone too far.
I think the UN should have the right to remove a leader when it gets this bad.

How much power does the UN actually have? I seem to remember their protests doing little to nothing.

The UN is big on talk, but not action...maybe cause with so many countries they cant all agree! Eventually their leader will die...then hopefully change will be swift.

I agree. The veto sucks. Our Prime Minister argued against them when the UN was created, but, alas, to no avail.

They say it's because the 5 great nations contribute the most funding. It's like giving rich people more votes than poor people.
