my sister had the cd, musically, a lot of it is rather good, and i like her voice a lot. i would say my favorite non-crust female vocals are dido, cranberries, and her. but what i really like is how she pisses people off so much. anyone with a hernia who goes around peeing their pants and saying the age old word "poser" is a dang loser and thats a fact.

I guess i really can't judge her, but i haven't like anything of hers THAT I'VE HEARD. She may have some good music, but the only music that i've heard is that crap thats on hot 99.5 and 107.3. I've never heard anything good about her from anyone with taste in music. She is supposedly punk but she sounds pretty lame to me. Of course I've only heard whats played on the popular stations that are extremely annoying to listen to on the bus ride home. 99.5 is the one in our area thats play 50 cent, pop, and all the hip hop that all the rich white kids listen too. Yes lots of rich kids at my school that try and act ghetto. So annoying. Thats the station that plays 'skater boy' and that son that goes like "why did you have to make things complicated". So thats all ive really heard of her, but i'm not very fond of it.

Reasons I dont like her, hmmm She dosent right her own songs,(I dont know about her new album), sombody gets paid to tell her what to wear, and how to act. She gives canadians a bad name. Shes not attractive, she is very small and mousey looking with a lot of make up.

How jealous you sound bunniemaster, and how ill informed you are. Avril does write her own songs, has a plantinun cd, lives in a small apartment, does not have a fleet of cars or spend her millions on wacky gold jewellry and other crap that many *other* singers have. We (Canadians) are very proud of our 19 year old "punk princess". Unlike you she also knows how to spell and is not afraid to express her opinion. We can understand her songs (unlike some of those garage bands who just bang on their instuments) and we are not aghast at her comments (aka that crap rap/hippity hop musician that wants to kill his mother and ex-wife). Obviously she is very popular and has a strong fan base. She is going somewhere, where others are not. Your opinion is your own, but to wish someone to have cancer and die, well it's just plain ignorant.

How does that pass as ignorance in your book? Ignorance is being unaware of certain aspects of something yet jumping to wild conclusions about it.. I think bunnie's wishing for her death is simply that: bunnie wishing for her death. And regardless of what he doesn't know about her, he's still going to greatly dislike her music and who she is; it does not seem as though Bunniemaster (or anybody, come to think of it) would say "You have proven me wrong, indeed; I am suddenly starting to like Avril and would like to stick it to her" or some such thing.

Striker, I am proud to be Canadian, and when any Canadian manages to prove themselves in whatever way they can, I am equally as proud of them. Hockey is not one of my interests, therefore it flies right over my head (and surely most others here - this doesn't double as a hockey forum, last time I checked). If you don't feel like going out of your way to do so, though, then I... aheh.. understand.

Not that I take any particular side in this argument, I can see how Tampa Bay Hockey Team could be considered an oxymoron...

In the NHL, the 6 original teams were Montreal, Boston, Chicago, New York, Detroit, and (Kat's home team?) Toronto. Hockey was primarily seen as a cold region game. Canada is absolutely in love with the sport, and kids start playing it as early as 2 and 3 years old. Over time, the NHL expanded into other parts of Canada and the US, but for the most part was popular in the nortern regions. Expansions into LA, Atlanta (Where the Calgary Flames actually originated), and St. Louis saw the game creep southward. Than the real expansions took place as new teams popped up or relocated to areas such as Arizona (Winnipeg Jets), Denver (Nordiques), Dallas (North Stars), Miami, Tampa, Nashville and a new team in Atlanta.

Being a hockey fan, I can see how a hockey team in Tampa or Nashville could be an oxymoron, given the history of the sport, and the low attendance figures in most areas south of St. Louis. In fact, die hard hockey fans would even find it funny.

Sad thing is, all this expansion has really hurt the NHL to the point where attendance $ cannot keep up with escalating saleries. Thus, the owners will lockout the players before the start of the next season in an attempt to create a player Salery Cap that would allow owners to actually make a profit, rather than lose $ year after year.

I love Hockey, but the expansions have greatly thinned out the talant, and have never created a greater interest in the sport. Expansion was also supposed to give the NHL a chance to capitalize on a hugh national TV contract that never materialized. Sad, but the NHL got to big to function, and teams that have always had a hugh following have lost fans because of the lack of talent to go around. As good as the Lightning were this year, they souldn't be in the league, and neither sould the Oilers, Sen's, Blue Jackets, Thrashers, Predators, Panthers or Coyote's.

im from "hockeytown" so hockey is very big here, but what i do not understand is why all the red wings are russian or canadian, with the exception of maybe the towel boy who lived in detroit for 2 weeks when he was growing up. its like a mecca for squid throwing toothless foot fairies with unpronouncable last names.
