You should also consider the gain of actually putting in that much work into stuff a lot of players won't ever see (and there aren't that many who will play a random dmod). For example, while such optional stuff seems very cool, wouldn't that time be better spent adding to the original linear game? Obviously, some dmods take pride into being very nonlinear and replayable, but that's because they were built as such from the ground up.
