and you'll only hinder everything and people will get annoyed
Why? How is it a problem for others if he is not eating meat?
It's usually when eating with others. Some people get annoyed when they can't cook meat for a group of people because one of them is a vegetarian. I too can get a little annoyed when everybody has some specific (non medical) food preferences. This goes well beyond just vegetarianism, there are many more people who have all kinds of specific requirements for their food. (No beans, no tomatoes, no milk products, no green vegetables, no fish, and so on.) If you live together with 5 people and everybody has a different set of things they refuse to eat your menu will be pretty small.
I know of people who won't ever prepare meat themselves but don't mind eating meat when somebody else has prepared it.
Of course when you're just cooking for yourself, more power to you. I can't see what anybody could have against that. It certainly is better for the environment. (Personally I'd rather go the flexitarian route myself. Saves a lot of stress.)
Personally I'm still a happy meat-eater and I have no intention of changing that.
