Any workarounds for limited variables?
Heya, anyone remember me?
I finally got around to installing Dink 1.08 and got to thinking, one of the few major limits that hasn't been improved (as far as I can see) is the limited number of combined local and global variables. It's still 248, right?
Does anyone know any good tricks to work around this limit? Specific to 1.08 or otherwise. I of course know about using editor feq/frame/type instead of a global when the change effects only once screen.

Well, I haven't tried it yet but I believe sp_custom(); might have some value. Though it doesn't really help any when you're already using the sprite variable trick which would work equally well...
Welcome back, ManaUser! It's certainly been a long time.

That was a joke, right? Only utter n00bs wouldn't remember you. As for the oldbies, I think they're still waiting for Crosslink (I hope you don't mind the constant nagging when you're posting here).

It's been a while, hasn't it?
And redink fully streched out the limits of variables with supervar's or multivar's I think. Basically, you stuff 8 seperate single didget var's into a 8 didget var. Your memory requirements explode, but I don't think that's as much of a problems as it was when fiat was released.
