Back again.... sort of.... not realy.... well, actualy, back to say im not back.
hello again people, my computer got fudgeed up again, and it was only fixed about a fortnight ago. anyway, the point is, dink smallwood was just a phase for me, i get the game, its cool, try to make a dmod, find this place, get sucked into it, spend about 4 hours a day doing dink related things, computer breaks, now i dont like the game anymore. i'll still probably hang around for a while, almost certinly during summer, but in all honesty, i cant realy see why i liked the game in the first place, i think mainly, i enjoyed making games with premade engines, so ultimatly, it didnt involve much of a challange. speaking of which, does anybody know a good c compiler and tutorial i could be baffld at for a while then get bored of?
anyway, i realy enjoyed my stay in your community, your all realy dead on, and i hope this place lasts for a good while to come.
P.S. glenn, did that dmod we started to make work out?

I think most of the old-timers don't really like the game all that much. I mean, sure, it is fun for a while, but once you've been playing it for 7 years it gets kind of old
I rarely play new D-Mods any more, unless it does something really different. I'm here for the community, maintaining the site, and for creating my own D-Mods.

Yeah... I completely agree.. But then again, as many of you know, I haven't even had dink installed for 3 years now.
Yup, same here. I only occationally play the mods that are huge, like Pilgrim's Quest or Cloud Castle 2.

Well, my computer crashed and I reinstalled to Mepis
Mepis: The Distro for people who weren't smart enough to use anything else.
Seriously, Mepis and [k]Ubuntu (Kubuntu is better than ubuntu because it uses KDE) are pretty much the worst distributions out there. Plus, they use .deb packages. Ick!

Good C Compiler? GCC.
Im kinda confusedafied by the whole thing, especialy saying as it said it would take 1 day and 16 hours to download. and i have broadband. what im looking for, is something slightly more user freindly, a step up from dinkc, but not quite as hard as a full on c compiler. i dont know a single command in c, but its something id like to take start doing. thx.

C++ is similiar to DinkC.
...wait, that's not true!
C++ is more similar to DinkC than it is to basic. It's been a while since I wrote anything in it (I don't do much programming), but I've always found it relatively easy to use. I use DevC++.
