To Rome (Closed)
Venit summa dies et ineluctabile tempus (Vergilius, Aeneïs 2, 324)
The day has come and the inevitable moment...
... that I'll leave to Rome
That's right, I'll leave tomorrow to Rome with school for about a week. So don't expect a reply soon if you decide to e-mail me

Neat, have fun
Wow, cool.
That's awesome!! I love Rome, though haven't been there. Why's your school taking you to Rome? Don't forget to tell us all about it when you return. ^_^
Why's your school taking you to Rome?
Well, it's simply part of the deal I'm doing the so-called 'gymnasium' (something like (secondary?) grammar-school AFAIK). This means I do Latin and Greek. I've done Latin for four years now (doing my fifth year) and Greek for three years. Everyone who does at least one of those languages goes to Rome. The people who don't do that go to Berlin.
Edit: you don't only do those languages, you also get to know about the Roman Empire, their history, their world, their ideas and philosophies et cetera. And you use the language to read writings from that time.
Though it could be one of the very last years my school's doing this. Rome is a very expensive place and the trip is expensive as well. Many schools have already quit going to Rome because of this.
Don't forget to tell us all about it when you return
Sure

YO, simeon, if you go to that small church (whatever its called) ye should ask what they think of if you say "Baal"
Do tell us about the empire's decline.
By the way, I am Rey. Any who disagree must speak what they think my name is.
Edit: Arggh! Tricked yet again! Blast you, redink1! BLAAAAAAAAAST YOOOOOUUUUU!! -_-

I've been to Rome with the gymnasium last april. It was great fun, especially the evenings when you are set loose in the city. And... If you EVER encounter some guy called Silvio at the Trevi Fountain, tell him you know one of the boys that was with the girls that bought the Lord of the Rings posters half a year ago.
I'm back! It was awesome! Seen lots of beautiful buildings, churches, excavations et cetera. And of course lots of ice (go to Blue Ice icecreamstore, Piazza Navona - lots of delicious ice for a few Euros ) , beer, wine, Italian food and water. But anyway, we've seen many buildings and places.
Well, PM me if ye see me on-line for more, heh
