DinkC help files do not work anymore
Hey guys, I was looking for some things related to the DinkC language and found these 2 files:

The problem is that they are useless on modern OS, starting with Win 8. The hlp files included are just not working on the new versions of Windows help and even if you download a WinHlp program and try to open those files manually the system will not allow you to do so.
Is there any way that these files can still be used? If not, then maybe they could be converted to another format that would be more up-to-date?

Well, I use WINE on linux to simulate win32 on windoze Vista. That works for me. You can use the latest windinkeditplus2 on that platform too.

Have you tried going to google.com and entering something like [.hlp file viewer windows 8 and later] as search criteria? Although I'm sure you cannot use all the results, I got about 40,900 results in 0.63 seconds. I suspect there is something there you can use.

I can't recommend enough to download DinkC reference in pure text format (never heard of dirty text format anyway). It's way faster to navigate through.

I can't recommend enough to stop whatever you're doing and start listening to me. It's way faster than listening to anybody else.

Joking aside, I think I remember some discussion about few incorrect statements in .hlp file. DinkC.txt on the other hand has a lot of helpful comments (even some potential bug warnings). DinkC.txt can also be opened on any operating system, and can be read by those who possess the ability to read latin letters, and are perceptive to electromagnetic waves between 430-770 terahertz.

I have an app in my computer(it came with my KDE ubuntu distribution) which is called Kwrite.
It has formatting for dinkc, strangely.
EG. in void talk(void)
(void) looks bluish, and talk looks black.
EG in say_stop("`%Murder. That's not far from burning, Dink.", 1)
everything between "" looks redish. and the number 1 looks yellow.
return and if look bold
it is very useful, and even has autocomplete for often used words. i often autocomplete things such as say_stop.
Works for me.
